to my knowledge any mods done need engineer certificate

hence that box does not make it legal the certificate does.

maybe im wrong but when i rang the rta techo's that’s what they told me about the air pod !

Babylon speaks the truth. It is actually even possible to get your pod filter engineered, however its a pain in the neck. I would honestly just throw on a stock air box, take it back and get it cleared. Then once its okay put your filter back on and make or buy a nice airbox for it. the airbox makes sense anyway, otherwise your car is just sucking hot air into the turbo..

hey mate just thought id add my 2 cents, yeh it is ok they'll pass it coz i bought one for mine about a month ago and it was fine.... the law states that the "filter must be enclosed" to prevent any fuel etc spraying back out the pod ie may cause fire...... so yeh chuck one on and you will be fine.

i got mine for about $80, how much is urs?

if you run some pipe through from the front bar up the old intercooler pipe hole you should notice a small increase in power. Cold air induction is easy to do when you have a aftermarket front mount. The box makes it even better.

i didnt know you can do that , even more reason for me to get a front mount!

but does it make a difference leaving your stock air filter or getting a K&N one and

boxing it up?

Coz i have a K&N filter but its not boxed up. basically wanted to know if it worth it

Babylon,

one member put a stock air box back in, used a k&n panel and said that he had a power gain. The stock airbox is actually fairly good when you use a k&n panel. I still have a un-boxed Apexi Powerintake in my car, I have been meaning to get it boxed but have been too busy. Its on my to do list.

I will probably buy a box from UAS and then get some flexi hose and run it from where the old stock cooler is up to the new air box. That way its 1. Hidden from prying eyes, 2. Nice and cold 3. alot neater.

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
