Ok - I hope you've all sobered up now.

Anyways - we had the meeting with the CAMS officials on Saturday morning for the event just to iron out the edges. These guys will be there overviewing the event and are great guys and want us to have fun as long as no-one is stupid. But that will be further defined on the day.

Just some quick points for everyone - hements etc will only be required to be worn on the short track covered in the morning. Any time on the skidpan no helmets will be required.

Also - passengers will be allowed in all events (max 1). Again passengers on the short track will need a helemt but not on the skidpan.

Finally - if anyone is bringing their better halfs along - at the lunch break any ladies that want to have a quick run on the skidpan (with partners permission to use their car) then they will be given a FREE go (no CAMS or anything will be required for this).

Furthur to that Snowie... All passengers and 'better halfs' are not covered by CAMS personal accident and injury insurance.

I think we should ask them to sign a disclaimer. Which will be the third sheet on the entry form. So as to cover SAU's asses..

Nice work mate. I had intended to get soemone to do a cruise up thread. Just so people know myself and Snowie will travel up at about lunch time on friday to get a few things organised up their at the DECA grounds.

Also people's keep an eye on this thread as we will release an Event Schedule mid week outlining all the events and the procedings on the day. People should print a copy and bring it along.

as an idea, what the ford club did, was to run 2 groups so as to maximise time.

ie, half would be on the short track and the other half on the skidpan and then alternate afterlunch so as to give everyone more time and not leave one facility unused......

is this what were doing?

It sure is Phill.

The morning will have groups split into 2 - half at the skidpan and half at the short track. There will be 2 full skidpan events and we'll also run the short track in both directions (with "special additions" to the track). Then mid morning the groups will swap.

After lunch everyone will be on the skidpan as the skidpan will be running 2 identical events at once - so basically people will be racing against each other.

So you should be doing an event once every 20min or so through-out the day.

Updated list of paid and confirmed entries. Have had several people apparently sending in forms etc that are not on this list so if you have sent one but are not here please contact me. If you have been meaning too but haven't got around to it yet remember entries close tomorrow night.

Adam, I take a trolley jack, stands, tools, all fluids and a chair. Any spares that may help are thrown in as well, such as extra brake pads. This shouldn't be too tough on the car though so don't get too worried.

Hey guys, a quick note for thosee who have just entered, there is a cruise up on Friday night, leaving from the Ford Factory in Campbellfield

    • Its a 2002 vr-x four VQ25DET, silver. Coil overs, lowered, polished alloys and sport exhaust. Bit of a project, was sitting in a shed for a while but runs and drives great.
    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
