When your car is complied you will have to get a blue slip so you can rego the car, the guys that do the blue slip will advise you whether or not you need to go to the RTA for a 3rd tier inspection......

I called the RTA about this '3rd tier inspection' & the chick sounded like she had absolutely no idea what she was on about. As far as I could tell, it is just to check that the VIN & Engine numbers match on the car & you're not trying to pull a shifty.....

Does anyone else have any more info on them?

yup

once the blue slip its third tier time(NSW)

unless you do it through a dealer, dealers dont get third teared very often..that is why all thge dodgy cars goes thru dealer compliance

where as us normal people the government doesnt trust so we have to get it inspected

So whats the inspection like??? Is it a full blue slip kind of inspection???

Apparently your car has to be pretty much stock to pass 3rd tier.....

I'm waiting until January when my car is 10 years old so I don't have to get the inspection done......
