My neighbour has a WRX with a carbon fibre cannon that cost him 550 bucks alone.. I could get a full 3.5" straight-through system for about that money.

I'd be interested to hear otherwise.

This is too true.

When was the last time you saw a WRC Rex with a cannon?

when was the last time you saw any track car with a cannon?? that said though, when was the last time cops let you off with the exhaust coming out under the doors?? WRC cars do have a rear muffler, its more like a square box though i think, well it was last time i looked at one.

I have a cannon, I'd love a straight pipe... but my cannon is loud as it is so how the hell do you guys with straight pipes expect to pass EPA/cops/rego? Also talk to people in your car and not get headaches everytime you're in there because the helmet you're not wearing isn't muffling the sound?

]']hm..

cannons may look nice on some cars

but too loud for my liking

i love my Fujitsubo oval muffler ;)

Yep go the Fujitsubo......Although I reckon the original tips on them are a bit small.

So I changed mine to a 5.5inch :D

Still dont mind the look of cannons....but only on the right car and when its angled

Prefer Titanium cannons these days as oppose to the shiny ones....

Ganador Titanium exhausts with titanium cannon... :drooling:

simple, drown it out with a sound system lol

ya i've got an apexi "super megaphone" cat back exhuast,,, it is so quiet!!!

sometimes i can't even tell if the engine is running or not.

but with a name like "super megaphone" you'd think otherwise!! haha

its a bit on the shiny side though,,,

well... if your not concerned about the whole legal thing.. straight through of headers/ dump, no cats or resonators, mild dull steel.. :uhuh:

I see ricer shitboxes all the time. Just laugh. theres this old lancer near my work..dead stock...monster tacho..hks blitz trust ect...really cool plastic mesh on the frount.. :aroused:

I agree... Cannon mufflers are over-used these days on far too many lame cars.

I think cannons look great on certain cars, 200's, supra's, and some wrx's, but its pathetic to see a 4" cannon on festiva's etc.

I actually like twin cannons on skylines.

And for what it's worth... here's my exhaust.

dual tips

    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
    • Talk about noisy. Even when I still had the Tomei under the car I could distinctly hear the tires rolling. And I doubt I ever will need maximum grip like on a track. My GTR will maybe never even see the 600hp mark and I need to get used to the car quite a bit before challenging the limits of its handling. For the next winter storage I think I will get a set of these rubber drive-on thingies that have a tire shaped base. Those supposedly really help prevent flat spots.
    • Well our climate is definitely way less hot overall and the weather can be quite picky at times. I just know that during normal road use or even spirited drives there is no way I'd be able to consistently stay in the operating temperature, and constantly changing the tire pressure would also be a royal pain.
    • Input shaft bearing. They all do it. There is always rollover noise in Nissan boxes - particularly the big box. Don't worry about it unless it gets really growly.
