Well its on again. Unfortunately my car was not ready for the private track day on the 11/07 but it will certainly be ready for the normal S.A.S. on the 16/07. Can't wait to get out there again and test out the new goodies.

Hopefully we can see some more people there. For all those that can't make the mid-week days here is your chance. The weather is nice and cool, there is no excuses, lets go have some fun!

if you to get the track license for $55. Its valid for a year. Then its $95 for 3 sessions on the track or $75 if you prepaid at least one day before the event.

We usually get there around 10am.

Sorry for working full-time and spending all Thursday night fitting a new set of extractors to the mini. Look it up, all the info you need is on the QR Web page, its just an open to the public day not a privately organised day.

But. . . . we usually turn up around 11 ish to try and get one of the undercover pits, I have to renew my 12month license which is about $55 I think and the sprints have gone up from what I have heard, $75 prepaid and $95 on the day????

You need a current license, at least long sleaves and long pants, and a helmut (you can hire them there). And then just get ready to have some fun! :(

NA_R33, it will be interesting to hear your comments on cheaper but wider rubber as last time I bought tyres they convinced me more expensive thinner rubber would give better grip due to the compounds etc.

Ill be sure to let everyone know how good they are after the auto hands it too jason... nah jk's. But yeah was only out there 2 weeks ago with the old yoky's on the rear. Before even hitting the track, the car has never hooked up as hard out of corners with the 265's.

Looks like we're kinda organised. Car is currently in at mechanic (his reaction after seeing the figures from it's current wheel alignment was not good - hence it's staying the night). Should be back fri arvo, and all is set for a sat blasting.

Also bringing out a mates "power cordia" - with special smoke screen function ready for use. Hope the line holds together though, as the cordia is a trailer only job (and finally confirmed that the line does fit on the trailer :) just as well).

See you there JLNewton - can't wait to see how well your GTR peddles.

Hey, Dave. Actually bailing on this now as of yesterday. Have been invited to attend a track day at Darlington park on Sunday. Can't do both days and the Darlington park track is heaps more fun ;):) :)

Shall see you guys at the next one!

well we made it to the sprints and had heaps of fun, especially on the last free runs...but that was a bit naughty :chairshot teehee

best time Noddy got was a 1:00.8400, and plenty of consistant 1:01's

Was good to meet all you guys too. :Pimp2:

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
