Yes, I have searched - but didn't find exactly all the stuff I wanted to know. So:

1) What is (more or less) max boost for standard RB20 Turbo ?

2) Will R33 FMIC piping work with RB20 or is the pipework different orientation ?

3) Is the front/dump pipe of an R32 same as an R33 ?

4) Is the R32 4door exhaust (cat back) the same length and orientation as a 2 door version ?

5) Is the GTS-4 suspension (front and rear) same as a GTS-t or GTR or neither ?

6) Can you disable front wheel drive ina GTS-4 same as GTR (by pulling a fuse , which one)

7) Will adjustable exhaust cam gear give same benefits as RB25DET at 4 deg retard ?

8) Is the exhaust cam gear same as RB25DET ?

9) Is the AFM in RB20DET same as RB25DET - and will Z32 AFM help with increased resolution ?

10) Is it worthwhile getting RB20 turbo hiflowed with new (steel) wheels ? At what cost ? Or is it simply better/less cost to get a 2nd hand HKS 2430

11) Is the RB20DET and RB25DET exhaust manifold the same ?

12) Is mounting a FMIC on the R32 similar to the R33 ? Do you need to shave the front bar ?

13) What can max power the GTS-4 gearbox handle ?

14) Does GTS-4 come with LSD at the rear ?

15) Is the rear diff same as a GTR (ie R200) ie if I found an R200 locker would it bolt up ?

16) Who does R32 ECU re-chips / how much ? Is it better to just get an SAFC / Fuel Controller ? I know this doesn't adjust timing - but was thinking the cam gear could take care of this for moderate power. (AP Eng PFC too expensive for an R32 - bad cost/benefit for the value of the car)

17) With GTS-4 do the same tyre width on all 4 wheels apply - like GTR ?

18) What is safe power (rwkw) for standard internals ?

19) What sort of brakes are on the front of a GTS-4 , I think 2 pot - Will the R33 4 pots bolt on ? What size discs ?

Sorry for all the questions , some might be rudimentary I guess....

Thanks in advance Roy - for your help on these (as I know you will know all the answers - he he)

1) What is (more or less) max boost for standard RB20 Turbo ? - 14psi

2) Will R33 FMIC piping work with RB20 or is the pipework different orientation ? - drivers side return pipe is different

4) Is the R32 4door exhaust (cat back) the same length and orientation as a 2 door version ?- 4 door is slightly longer

5) Is the GTS-4 suspension (front and rear) same as a GTS-t or GTR or neither ?-gtr i believe

8) Is the exhaust cam gear same as RB25DET ?-yes, inlet adj. cam gears are good as there is no vvt i think....?

9) Is the AFM in RB20DET same as RB25DET - and will Z32 AFM help with increased resolution ?-cubes is using a series 1 r33 i believe, and a z32 can be used as well...

10) Is it worthwhile getting RB20 turbo hiflowed with new (steel) wheels ? At what cost ? Or is it simply better/less cost to get a 2nd hand HKS 2430-previous owner of my car had this done, and it cost roughly $1100. It just made ~218rwkw @ 1.1bar recently on a tune

11) Is the RB20DET and RB25DET exhaust manifold the same ?- yes

12) Is mounting a FMIC on the R32 similar to the R33 ? Do you need to shave the front bar ? - yes

16) Who does R32 ECU re-chips / how much ?- Dr Drift...on these forums

I hope i got most of those right

3) Pretty certain they are the same.

5) Same as GT-R

6) Yes

13) I'm running 180 Awkw through the stock gearbox

14) Viscous LSD, I believe

17) YES

19) 4-spotters front, 2-spots rear, probably the same as R33. A set of slotted rotors doesn't hurt.

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
