Hey All,

I suffer the seemingly common "Oil pressure drops almost to 0, turn off / on, all is well" syndrome that many here have witnessed.

I understand it can be from dirty / faulty oil pressure sender or dodgy stock gauge.

I will be cleaning the sender this weekend, though have been quoted $260.97 from Nissan !?!?!?

So my question is, where do you guys buy parts from? Surely I don’t have to fork out 260 for a sender? Can I use one from a RB30 etc?

I have a strange grinding noise from the front of my engine that sounds like a bearing, and considering its MUCH louder in the mornings, has led me to believe it could be the oil pump ( with the small 1st gen RB26 collar) but I'll leave that for another thread.

Any help would be massively appreciated!!!!

260??? bugger that, just get an aftermarket guage for that with its own sensor

I'm having teh same drama, you might want to get the engine checked out. When mine arrived we pulled it apart and found some seized bearings on the front, 300 from nissan for a new one. damn they know how to charge!

The oil pressure sender lives behind the oil filter pointing towards the back of the car. To remove you unplug the wires in, undo a nut, and then it turns on. You do need little fingers as with all rb26 stuff.

Oil wont spray everywhere unless you have the motor running while you pull it off. haha

Don't forget to remove the wires connecting to it first.

Doing an oil change at the same time will make life easier as it won't have an oil filter on it.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but...

Does anyone have the part number of one of these puppies, ie oil sender unit for an early R32 Rb26dett. It is just that the customer service from my local Nissan dealer varies between incompetent & downright hostile, hence I dont trust them to get it right.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
