in japan atm they are all about combining the street car with the race car style

This is the style I've always liked. GO first, show second. I just like nice, clean, simple, understated yet classy lines and style.

rice style is ok so long as it's done.... stylishly. if you're going to rice your, car do it properly, and ferchrissakes give it some go, preferably without the look at me bus-brake-BOV and er... neons... Ruffels mate I dont know, they might look good in person but I reckon your car needs a 1)good polish! 2)better wheels 3)lowering, and something on the ends of that wing, to even think about pulling off those neons. But that's just my opinion!

haha.. the neons werent meant to look good.. i put them on as a joke coz they were cheap and definatly worth the laugh with my mates

wings gone, cars been polished, dont want it any lower i live in speed hump central, and the wheels are fine

i was just posting my slice of rice

haha

personal opinions are allways welcome :), but at the same time should allways be respected

If u enjoy modding ur car with rice why not?

some people prefer looks as opposed to performance.

its all about individual choice.

at the end of the day we both enjoyed a tastefully moddified skyline.

whetehre it is a gtr with a t88 or a gts with a do-luck kit and volk te37 rims

after many hours of consideration ive decided that im going to ignore the NSW new P plater laws, get the GTS-T R33, drive it down to melbourne and get my VIC license then come back to sydney, where Sydney police wont know the VIC laws about power to weight ratio :) there for i get my turbo (not quite a GTR just yet) and i get to legally drive it :)

might be different for you guys down there, but I think you need a garaging addy in the state in which you are registering.... good luck tho, those laws are a load of shite, just another knee jerk reaction from someone who doesn't have a clue

yeah all my relatives live in VIC, so that wouldnt be a problem, just if i get pulled up in NSW i have to say that i live in VIC 60% of the year :):(

CF hoods? who here has one and where did you get it?

and is it legal to change the side mirrors to like the ones on BMW's and Mercs. how it has the indicators on the actual mirrors? i think that looks kinda bling :)

completely off the topic of rice but why the f*** is there so many speed humps in the streets of the inner suburbs in melb. now.... they never used to be there 5 months ago, now every time i go there to visit freinds/relatives n such i cant drive hardly anywhere that isnt on a main road due to there being speed humps down every side street without having to worry if im gonna go over one without losing my front bar :D

heh scathing ...

that reminds me of seeing a wrx with 19" rims going around the track... -.-

Yep, seen that too. Been a couple of WRXs on big rims running big boost on Wakefield. Pull away from me in the straights, but I can almost get parallel with them on corner exit of Turn 2 (the Kink is Turn 1) until their turbo finally spools up and they can power down again.

I've also been out when the old Tempe Tyres promo GT-R (the grey one on 20" rims) tried to go out. He popped the boot in the staging area to show off his stereo.

Once again, he pulls away in the straights and just gets in my way from Turn 2 exit.

The idiot also ended up sliding off the track and shredding 2 of his tyres (too low profile for the dirt / stones, or just because Tempe sells nasty rims with really sharp edges? Who knows..?), forcing the operator (I am not calling him a driver) to ask around for a set of space savers to try and drive home.

Then agian, in japan atm they are all about combining the street car with the race car style, becuz its more of a challenge then if it was just circuit/drag built. (eg gutted interior etc)  Also, becuz its more practical that way for normal people to have a fast car they can drive on the street, n they make more money .. etc etc

The way I see it, it depends on your intended purpose. If I was building a car for track work, it would have no interior and no creature comforts. If it was street registered and driven to events I'd have a radio (aside from whatever is required for rego), but only because if you're driving in tunnels sometimes they use the emergency broadcast in an accident. But, then again, I could just buy a $20 battery powered one.

But if I'm building a street car, it'll be streetable. The engine won't have a narrow powerband that you fall out of if you change up 2RPM from redline, nor will it be missing most of the interior. The suspension will have a fair amount of compliance, and my wheels will be light and strong, but not huge.

At the same time it won't be heavily lowered (even though it improves aero and my CoG) since I have to drive over speed humps, nor will I be putting on a big fibreglass bodykit since I never hit speeds where the actual performance benefit makes a difference but I will frequently hit the kit on the road when driving to work.

Have a look at some of the quickest street cars out there, the Clubman style cars. Even with their stock 4AG engines most people have buckleys of keeping up with them on your favourite country road or on the track, but they've got similar drag coefficients to 4WDs.

If I do body mods it'll be after I've exhausted the performance mods I can afford to do or, in my situation, if a good deal comes along. So I'll get a kit before doing a full engine rebuild or a TT kit, but if I had the money required to get the latter I wouldn't be buying the former.

im not even sure they did actually agree, but i'ld reckon.. (out the top of my head, while making it up) around 140rwkw .....

:note: i was writing this before seein gr33dy's post.. anyhow

yeah ive researched a bit and yes it is around 140rwkw for a stock GTST R33

just wondering where the best place to get a custom boot install and the interiour of my car re done?

preferably in sydney, but id be willing to drive to brissy, melbourne or canberra

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
