after 6 months mine died. Ended up end filter that was supplied with it ended up decaying, and sucking itself into the pump, until eventually it was pretty useless.. car would randomly stall, not start, etc. That is what I would say most likely caused the problem.. if not the pump just crapped itself.

try and not use the stock filter. But others have had random failures with them..

mine runs fine, no problems and very happy in fact.

you can re-use the stock sock filter just to be safe, though predator is the only person i've heard of who has experienced this problem before. I'm interested to hear who else is having problems with walbros, and who they bought them off if "plenty of people are haiving problems" with them.

Another note, there is a thread about someone on this forum who has been selling Walbro rip-off's(Cefiro_PWA) (which don't have proper model number & walbro logo & pat numbers stamped on them), be wary of them, as they are not the same quality as proper walbro's.

It's sticked in the for sale section / parts & acc classifieds fyi

My mates Walbro pump cacked it after about 10months (180sx). I also had a Walbro, however when my car was on the dyno one time my tuner told me that my car was leaning out and believed that it was the pump starting to fail, but im not 100% convinced that it was the pump. I replaced it with a Bosch 040

Im pretty sure though that my pump was a genuine Walbro as it had the emblem and serial number engraved on the pump.

There was a fair few copies going round though on NS.com

mine i am pretty positive is genuine walbro.. and like above had the proper markings I am pretty sure..

when i get around to it 2nd time around, I am either going GTR pump or Bosch.. I thought giving the walbro was worth a try at a bit of a cheaper price, but don't think I would do it again.

I agree , you pay Peanuts ,ya get monkeys. Have been thru this Walbro scenario. Cost me money for a piece of snot!

Bought a more expensive Tommie, vehicle specific , will never cut corners again.

how can say that?

A walbro is not far off the price of a bosch unit.

So people arent cutting corners at all. Just the product is crap.

mine didnt come close to flowing what it said on paper. Changed to a bosch and the AFR's went ridiculously rich.

No more walbro for me either. Im just using it as a lifter pump

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
