posted up some photos after it was nice and clean.

AS for the questions above, +15 18 x 10 no issues, mine dont scrub, only if the wheel arch plastic lining pops out, happened once when i washed it never scrubbed bottomed out at full lock or whilst driving. As you can see from the photos they are still slighly within the guard enough for legal reasons etc.

Have been in discussion with two other guys over the weekend as they want the same wheels/offset and size and these would be the largest offset and size i would recommend, they are practical and provide great feeling on the road over the 16x8 stockies.

I wanted big wheels with agressive offset that werent tooooo far out there. All in All im very happy with the look feel and sizing. However for next car will be buying genuine Jap forged wheels. JDM all the way. Rota is just a cheap out at this point. however good enough at same point.

hi all.

look at a set of 19s for my r33 sedan. Weds Kranze.

fronts are 19x9 +25 wearing 235 tyres.

rears are 19x10 +20 wearing 255 tyres.

with those tyres, i assume the rears will be a tight squeeze.

will i need anymore than lipped guards? dont mind the over-flush fitment.

was planning to buy some camber arms for the front and rear. Cant imagine i would have alot of room for adjustment on the rear though.

im worried the fronts might sink in too much.

planning to lower the car a fair bit.

Tyres are 265 35 18 and it sit fairly low ATM but will be getting it brought up maybe 20mm , so hopefully will fit.

The above will fit just fine.

Im doing 265 35 18 also, ever so slight stretch to fit em on perfectly.

If your going really low, you will need to play around with camber etc to get a wickid stance. however slightly lowered or practically lowered as i like to put it looks tuff with 20 offset in 18's will look really nice!

Yeah i have a bitch of a driveway. And i dont really like speed bumps etc etc.

Maybe if i go some better coilovers i.e. teins. maybe then a bit lower. Also putting on a CF front lower lip which is much lower than the stock lip so when all that is on, we might see about a smidge of lowering but i like it as is *practical

yeah boi it serves a purpose all the back streets around my way are speed bump offenders making life hard i feel like my ass goes through the back of the seat on some of them, may need to soften the sus setup a bit to compensate. (previous owner was setting the car up for targa tas).

having said that i would love the own a gtr or drift pig dumped on its tits with awesome camber stance etc.

maybe a little more camber might be the trick to bring it out nicely.

hello guys i have a query....one rim of my er34 gtt just got destroyed today....the mag was shit prlly thts why it got damaged so easily....i want to change it but i don know what offset they are since there is nothing written on the rims.

all my tires are brand new so i want to just change the wheels and put on the old tires.

the front type profile is 225 45 17

rear 225 40 17.....can any of u guys tell me what offset mags will fit these tyres?will be a great help thnxx.

Someone have 17x9 +22 with 255/40 Federal 595 RSR's on his 33 GTST, he needed slight guard lipping and flaring from memory.

Carbible calculator says they'll sit out 20mm more than my current +40. So in theory they should work at current height.

Hi INASNT,

I was just wondering how you managed to fit your wheels? I have recently purchased some 18 x 10's, but didnt do enough research and after getting tyres and putting them on, have found out that they stick out way past the guards (1 & 1/2 on the back, 1" on the front) and the front tryre also interferes with the suspension wishbone. I got em off Vision R on ebay, and they were described as

Rota GR6-2R, 18 x 10, 5x114.3 +15, Skyline, Silvia Evo

..................silly me! The stud pattern is about the only thing that fits nicely, and even then i will be forced to get extended wheel nuts as the originals dont have clearance between the rim and nut to fit a socket on.

So......................no its a little late, I thought i had better finally do some research, and i gathered this skyline forum would be the ideal place to make a start. Is there any way i can do to make these work ? Is this even legal in Queensland ?, as i dont think I am allowed to have my wheels 1" & 1/2 out side of my wheel arch (it kind resembles a tractor now, and traction would no longer be a problem haha).

And lastly, if i cannot get these to work, has anyone got a project car going that would be in need of a brand new set of wheels and rubber? They are white, six spokes, Jap looking wheels, and have been coated and cleared with white/silver irradescent pearl, so they look quite nice...................spewing they dont fit!

This is the details i have:

Skyline model = R33 GTST

Wheel diameter = 18"

Wheel width = 10"

Wheel offset = +15 (pretty sure)

Tyre size = 255/40/18

Modifications to fit = ???

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

probably could get away with 235/40 tyres front and rear. lipped rear guards and a little camber.

Front should be ok could go a 225/40 to be extra safe you probably have problems at full lock depending on your height but running those sort of offsets you would need to run low to make it look good or as you said looks like a tractor.

If you tuck tyre at the front you will have problems hitting the inner guards and the back firewall where the loom is running back into the car. I had to remove the rubber grommet and bash the firewall in so i don't scrub at full lock

Thanks alot for the advice. Forgive my ignorance, but what is involved in lipping my guards (process, cost, approximate timeframe, does it need to be done by someone familiar with this process?, and will it wreck my existing paint?)

I am not sure how a 225/40 would help alot with the front interfering with the wishbone. Wont that simply mean the tire will be stretched and angle down to rim more than it does now? Will this possibly lower the tire profile to give me abit more clearance? At full lock it looks as if everything clears the guards ok, its just that damn wishbone that makes the contact at the top of the tire.

What do you mean when you say "low"?, do you mean like a lower profile on the tire. Again, please forgive my ignorance. As for th etractor statement, i wasnt really refering to the size of the tire on the rim, just the size of the wheels when viewing from the rear (im used to the standrad wheels) so they look gargantuan haha.

im getting my r32 gtst painted so am happy to pull/roll guards, just wanted to know if i have a chance of fitting 18x9.5 +22 or there bouts..amybe +20 etc?

witha pull and roll will this be feasible? a bit of poke would be nice but dont want to be mexican =D....car also has bc coilies

this is lipping the guards, basically they use the guard roller to push the lip towards the guard for more clearance. They also use a heat gun to heat the paint up to reduce the chance of the paint flaking but can't be guranteed. Generally costs between 50-100 dollars per corner. If you are in sydney i can recommend someone to you.

In regards the tyre size. a 255/40/18 tyre has a sidewall height of 4.01 inches while a 225/40/18 has a sidewall height of 3.54 inches. So once you change tyre size on the front you'll have more clearance obviously since the sidewall is smaller.

What i mean by low is the overall height of the vehicle. Not sure if this is a good example but i'll take my car

this is exactly the same rims on the front except the car is now lower

    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year. 
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
    • Hi,  Just joined the forum so I could share my "fix" of this problem. Might be of use to someone. Had the same hunting at idle issue on my V36 with VQ35HR engine after swapping the engine because the original one got overheated.  While changing the engine I made the mistake of cleaning the throttle bodies and tried all the tricks i could find to do a throttle relearn with no luck. Gave in and took it to a shop and they couldn't sort it. Then took it to my local Nissan dealership and they couldn't get it to idle properly. They said I'd need to replace the throttle bodies and the ecu probably costing more than the car is worth. So I had the idea of replacing the carbon I cleaned out with a thin layer of super glue and it's back to normal idle now. Bit rough but saved the car from the wreckers 🤣
    • After my last update, I went ahead with cleaning and restoring the entire fuel system. This included removing the tank and cleaning it with the Beyond Balistics solution, power washing it multiple times, drying it thoroughly, rinsing with IPA, drying again with heat gun and compressed air. Also, cleaning out the lines, fuel rail, and replacing the fuel pump with an OEM-style one. During the cleaning process, I replaced several hoses - including the breather hose on the fuel tank, which turned out to be the cause of the earlier fuel leak. This is what the old fuel filter looked like: Fuel tank before cleaning: Dirty Fuel Tank.mp4   Fuel tank after cleaning (some staining remains): Clean Fuel Tank.mp4 Both the OEM 270cc and new DeatschWerks 550cc injectors were cleaned professionally by a shop. Before reassembling everything, I tested the fuel flow by running the pump output into a container at the fuel filter location - flow looked good. I then fitted the new fuel filter and reassembled the rest of the system. Fuel Flow Test.mp4 Test 1 - 550cc injectors Ran the new fuel pump with its supplied diagonal strainer (different from OEM’s flat strainer) and my 550cc injectors using the same resized-injector map I had successfully used before. At first, it idled roughly and stalled when I applied throttle. Checked the spark plugs and found that they were fouled with carbon (likely from the earlier overly rich running when the injectors were clogged). After cleaning the plugs, the car started fine. However, it would only idle for 30–60 seconds before stalling, and while driving it would feel like a “fuel cut” after a few seconds - though it wouldn’t fully stall. Test 2 – Strainer swap Suspecting the diagonal strainer might not be reaching the tank bottom, I swapped it for the original flat strainer and filled the tank with ~45L of fuel. The issue persisted exactly the same. Test 3 – OEM injectors To eliminate tuning variables, I reinstalled the OEM 270cc injectors and reverted to the original map. Cleaned the spark plugs again just in-case. The stalling and “fuel cut” still remained.   At this stage, I suspect an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, caused during the cleaning process. This has led me to look into getting Frenchy’s fuel hanger and replacing the unit entirely. TL;DR: Cleaned and restored the fuel system (tank, lines, rail, pump). Tested 550cc injectors with the same resized-injector map as before, but the car stalls at idle and experiences what feels like “fuel cut” after a few seconds of driving. Swapped back to OEM injectors with original map to rule out tuning, but the issue persists. Now suspecting an intermittent power or connection fault at the fuel pump hanger, possibly cause by the cleaning process.
