just spewing coz its got absolutely NO midrange

the hks2530 is known for its midrange torque so there definately must be something causing your turbos not to start pulling and spinning the wheels as soon as you stab on the throttle.

sorry hud let me clarifiy you need to keep the restrictor as it reduces the size of the hole the air has to travel through which increase the pressure holding the wastegate(act) closed ( think about a garden hose when u put your thumb over the end) Ive read that by altering the size of the hole in the restrictor you can change how the turbo ramps up on boost ie make it spool slightly earlier or later( hpi mag did a build up on a jap spec s15 which they did this on) if your missing the restrictor entirely by using pretty blue hosing instead you may get the problem you have as there is not enough pressure holding the wastegate(act) closed

damn so 1 bar @ 4,000rpm is resonsble..? i was looking at the hks line of turbos for my r32 (rb20) was thinking

- GT2835 pro S

- GT-RS

- GT2530 (KAI what the diff with KAI or not??)

was told GT-RS would be laggy get the 2835 pro and i guess there going to shit aswell so might be looking at 2530 now?? anyone have any ideas on what the other 2 would be like??

I remember reading in some post that the new 2530kai is rated higher than the old 2530 in terms of power...old 2530 was 320ps i think and the 2530kai is something like 350-360ps or something like that...try searching here...

    • I do like the look of these things (minus the ugly flat top surface with the text) https://rajabracing.com.au/product/nissan-rb25det-neo-intake/ Retains the OEM bottom runners, for that phat low range. If you want response king, maybe go with the Plazmaman pipe work, here's my old setup from a decade ago
    • Torque will suffer greatly, will try and find dyno difference on r34 with gt30 between stock and plazmaman short runner. like 2000-3000rpm power rdip at least. EDIT Green line is stock manifold, others is plazmaman short runner I also had a rb25 with greddy and q45 TB back in the day and was shit daily driving. Plazmaman top plenum with stock runner and DBW made it so much nicer.
    • Welcome to !
    • As I've said elsewhere, I am using the stock intercooler piping path in the engine bay, and a return flow cooler, and making ~250 rwkW (without any effort put into trying to turn it up past there just yet) and expect to be able to make some more, and frankly, I would be perfectly happy with 260-270rwKW. This is peak road Skyline usability territory. You go past there and, sure, the car will snap necks more when it's on boost, but it will also break shit all the time, cost a (even larger) fortune in tyres, etc etc. Anyway, I also do not like the over-the-fan pipe path, and you don't have to do it.
    • I see, honestly I’m not too fussed about the looks. The only reason to go plenum is to make the piping easier instead of the classic over the rad etc.
