plug connected to exhaust?

HEy all,

Just got a new catback exhaust system and while unbolting the old system we found a cable that has a bot type this which you screw into the exhaust.. does anyone know what this thing is called or what is does.. as the new system we have did nothave a plug or hole to screw it into.. we asked the exhaust place and they said usually the ole is in the cat and you screw it into there..

if anyone can help i would really appreciate it

im pretty sure its just a temp sensor, it usually plugs into the cat. The one on my car has a metal braided line going to it, im pretty sure its the same for skylines.

From what ive heard its not critical, just used for warnings in case of a blocked cat or something.

Thats just a temp sensor for the cat, dont worry about it just push it under the metal shroud between the floor.
