damn secrets :pirate:

sounds good Gary.

Well, if i were to get the adjustable stabiliser bars, i'm not in any danger of that part being modified anytime soon am i? I'd rather wait if you're going to change that part of the kit in the next few months.

Eventually, i hope to put together the WHOLE kit, but will have to do it bit by bit at this stage. Stabiliser bars being the most obvious starting point.

Is there any dramas just getting the stabiliser bars on their own? do i need to buy any of the other parts at the same time?

cheers for the quick reply

chinny

One of the drawers in my home office filing cabinets is full of confidentiality agreements. That’s how much people protect their IP these days.

No change in the Group Buy stabiliser bars on the horizon. I am very happy with their function. They come complete with everything you need to fit them. So order away, with total confidence.

I am off to Bathurst tomorrow for the 12 Hour race, the race team is running (not a Skyline) and I have to do my Team Manager thing. I will be back on Tuesday, so please excuse the slow responses to posts and PM's.

 cheers

Roughly how much would it cost to get all this stuff installed if you took it to a suspension place? or is it the kind of thing you can do at home?

With home garage tools, most guys can do everything except press the bushes in ($50) and the 4 wheel alignment ($whatever).

If you get a decent suspension workshop to do the whole lot, it will take one guy a full day. So multiply 7 hours by their hourly rate.

:) cheers

Hi, do you still have the rear shocks for the R34 GTT Sedan, and what is the cost include postage to WA?

As per page 1,

Rear Bilstein Shocks $476.00

Freight $10.00

Sub Total $486.00

PM for more details.

:D cheers :)

Nope, the Bilsteins are a straight replacement for the standard shocks

Hi guys, my inbox is filling up faster than I can respond to the PM’s. I usually get 30 to 40 PM’s a day. With the current delay in delivery, that has increased to 40 to 50 per day and I just can’t keep up with that sort of volume. Particularly as some of the more technical PM’s take 10 to 15 minutes each to reply to and my available time has decreased dramatically for reasons which will become obvious shortly.

I feel that I need to “broadcast” a Group Buy update until I can clear the backlog of PM’s. Here is the current situation;

1. A little back ground first. As you may be aware Redranger and Whiteline merged a couple of months ago. The first step was a merger of Sales, Marketing and Distribution functions and Whiteline’s Minto premises were simply not large enough to accommodate this. So the premises adjacent to Redranger at Somersby were acquired and that was utilised for the larger, merged entity. Some people have taken this as a sign that Redranger “took over” Whiteline, when that is in fact not the case, it is a true merger.

The Whiteline manufacturing premises at Minto remain. More news on that shortly.

2. How this affects the Group Buys. Many of the products that I specified for the Group Buy Kits are unique, it is what makes the kits “work” better than any other Skyline suspension update. This uniqueness has been possible because of my knowledge of the systems within Whiteline (plus Bilstein, of course). The Redranger merger has disrupted that system and the “unique” (to the Group Buy) parts have not been flowing through as they had previously.

3. The good news. I have been working 14 hours a day, every day, for the last week, including yesterday (Saturday) helping to clear that backlog of orders. As a result, all of the Group Buy orders should be delivered this week. At this point I can’t tell you what day your individual order will be delivered. But as they flow through the system I will inform you of the con note numbers as soon as they are issued (the normal system).

In conclusion, I know you probably don’t care about the reasons, you just want your stuff and that is totally understandable. But I felt I had to give some background and let you know that I am working on clearing the backlog (personally as it happens) so that we can return to our previous prompt responses. Please hang off on the PM’s, I promise you that I haven’t skipped off to Brazil with your money. That your stuff will be delivered very shortly.

:) Cheers :(

Just wondering if this setup would help my car for the 1/4 mile as my car axel tramps and doesnt hook up to well.

Or maybe theres another type of setup, maybe you could help me with (SydneyKid).

Regards

Thx In Advance

Gary, can I get the prices for Front and Rear swaybars delivered to 2177 NSW please? For both fixed and adjustable please.

Fixed are $195 each and $219 each, freight is $10 each.

 cheers

Plenty of guys use the Group Buy kit for drags, with good success. The spring rates (particularly rear) are OK for that purpose and the Bilsteins control the compression and extension of the suspension perfectly. The usual cause of axle tramp is poor control. Occasionally there is another reason, such as worn bushes, but insufficient damping is the most likely cause.

I used the Group Buy kit in my R34GTT (265 rwkw) for an 11.9 sec 1/4 at 120 mph, so it works OK at that level.

You can go to a more specific drag related set up, such as the one I specified for BU5TER (1.5 sec 60ft). On top of the normal Group buy price, you are looking at an extra $500 for Eibach coils and specifically revalved Bilsteins with coil over conversion.

PM me for more details.

 cheers

    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity.
    • 100% the factory sender is tapered, that is how it seals (well, that and teflon paste or tape)
    • Thanks folks - I've saved a few links and I'll have to think of potential cable/adapters/buying fittings. First step will be seeing if I can turn the curren abortion of a port into something usable, then get all BSPT'y on it. I did attempt to look at the OEM sender male end to see if it IS tapered because as mentioned you should be able to tell by looking at it... well, I don't know if I can. If I had to guess it looks like *maybe* 0.25 of a mm skinnier at the bottom of the thread compared to where the thread starts. So if it is tapered it's pretty slight - Or all the examples of BSPT vs BSPP are exaggerated for effect in their taper size.
    • Have a look at that (shitty) pic I posted. You can see AN -4 braided line coming to a -4 to 1/8 BSPT adapter, into a 1/8 BSPT T piece. The Haltech pressure sender is screwed into the long arm of the sender and factory sender (pre your pic) into the T side. You can also see the cable tie holding the whole contraption in place. Is it better than mounting the sender direct to your engine fitting......yes because it removes that vibration as the engine revs out 50 times every lap and that factory sender is pretty big. Is it necessary for you......well I've got no idea, I just don't like something important failing twice so over-engineer it to the moon!
    • Yup. You can get creative and make a sort of "bracket" with cable ties. Put 2 around the sender with a third passing underneath them strapped down against the sender. Then that third one is able to be passed through some hole at right angles to the orientation of the sender. Or some variation on the theme. Yes.... ummm, with caveats? I mean, the sender is BSP and you would likely have AN stuff on the hose, so yes, there would be the adapter you mention. But the block end will either be 1/8 NPT if that thread is still OK in there, or you can drill and tap it out to 1/4 BSP or NPT and use appropriate adapter there. As it stands, your mention of 1/8 BSPT male seems... wrong for the 1/8 NPT female it has to go into. The hose will be better, because even with the bush, the mass of the sender will be "hanging" off a hard threaded connection and will add some stress/strain to that. It might fail in the future. The hose eliminates almost all such risk - but adds in several more threaded connections to leak from! It really should be tapered, but it looks very long in that photo with no taper visible. If you have it in hand you should be able to see if it tapered or not. There technically is no possibility of a mechanical seal with a parallel male in a parallel female, so it is hard to believe that it is parallel male, but weirder things have happened. Maybe it's meant to seat on some surface when screwed in on the original installation? Anyway, at that thread size, parallel in parallel, with tape and goop, will seal just fine.
