yeah i cant understand why people are complaining about this thread for - its mindless dribble blah blah blah - its just one thread dont open it. *Think outside the square*

hmmm i dont understand human nature sometimes - why is the most practical thing always the most difficult for people to understand.

*gets down from soapbox once again* geez my soapbox is being well used lately!

I hear Niz. I mean I agree with the point that threads should stay on topic... other wise the "real" meaning of the thread gets lost amongst the chit chat. But this topic .... well has no topic - i think its good to come in here and break the ice, get to know people as you said Niz

Ohh and another thing , the wasteland vic style and NSW are WAY ahead of us and I don't see too many complaints about that.

Is this coming from Prank and the members in the East ( and rightfully so as it is his )

or is this you under pressure from a minority.

BTW I have put this on this forum rather than PM'ing you and playing secret squirrell stuff.

I agree this is a Skyline forum but there needs to be a chat type area to keep people interested.

Cheers

Hi everyone. I have been driving a 1994 Prelude around for a few days, and I have to say, after the Skyline, it is sooo comfortable. It is manual, but it feels like an auto. I am also in love with 4 wheel steering. I have managed to park perfectly first attempt every time!

Don't worry, the Skyline will be out weekends, petrol for her is sending me broke, so I have to resort to a prelude. It isn't so long ago I looked at Preludes and thought they were the ultimate sports car, now I use one as my daily driver. I actually think of it as my bomb.

Don't feel good about my view on this, I know I am lucky to have the things I have, and so many people would do anything for one car. I really need to go to India or something. Get my priorities right.

well we are a friendly group - why be portrayed as anything less?

One thread is not going to bring down the quality of the whole forum. hmmm anyway i shall take a deep breath and calmly walk away from this topic now.

geez no ones complaining about the whore thread its

the general unfriendly ness and attitude of some newbies thats offending the old regulars.

yes we have cleaned up are act but theres still evidence of the bad.

u can all get off your soap box, i can't lock the WA but the best way to get people to take notice is to lock the whore thread for alittle while.

Don't be worried , you have to lighten up and be thankful you have the money and ability to pay for your pleasures.

Hell , I have 5 cars and it doesn't make me at all worried ( except at rego time ):D

hmmm prelude hey? didnt do much for me either - but im built for speed not comfort - 5mins in my bouncy castle you realise that its not built for comfort ;) but hopefully i will have money to fix that next week. If i wanted a comfort car i would go a Landcruiser Sahara haha.

Ken, tell mosely to hurry up haha i get kicked outta my job at the end of this week :D

Newbies ??

What exactly is classed as a newbie considering this whole forum has been open for less than 12 mths.

Different people have different styles and I see nothing on these WA forums that suggests unfriendly or anti social behaviour.

I think that some of the older members ( and if we are talking age then I beat you all ) should maybe lighten up.

Things never stay the same . If it did we would all be still corresponding by letters and snail mail.

Cheers

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
