Yeah,

unfortunately people like me have contributed to the downfall in their exclusiveness. :(

If i'd had more time left pre-RAWS, I think I would have sought out a more unique little beastie. like a leopard, cefiro or a chaser.

but the good thing to remember is that the more of them that there are, the better the availability of parts and the more statistically viable it becomes to insure them (theoretically).

Still, I just about killed one of my freinds the other night when she said that skylines were just the new commodores.

yeh i think ure right.

The thing that gets me is that most ppl dont know f all they just get told that their mates mate has one and its fully sick. There is no appericiation for the car itself jsut the legend/mystery that surrounds it. It was the same in the early WRX days which was just before the lines started coming through in significant numbers. Every1 i know used to say they were twin turbos which as im sure u mostly know they were not. I think the b4 was but they just wanted an excuse as to why their fav v8s were getting chopped.

U ask any1 on the street and say if u could buy a car what would u buy. 9 times out of 10 if a guy sez a 'line and u ask y? hes not gonna have any idea apart from to say its fully sick. No idea about the advantages and disadvantages of the line vs other cars and they would proly have no idea of the kind of car they even like to drive.

And u wonder y our insurance is so high.*sigh*

coz shaun, nowadays people are after looks! only the true hardcores like me and you and after performance! :)

now off to modfiy this stupid blow off valve and the gym then come home and see if my boost will not bleed off like with the stocker blow off valve!

adrian :(

 werent u just talking about lowering and putting mags and a kit on a car? now ure talking about blow off valves? isnt that all just window dressing (rice)? wheres the performance.:(

I still find it hard to accept that any1 would buy a line and not want performance but im sure there are many out there. As long as they get all the non turbos and and autos im sure its ok but as soon as they start trashing to good 1s thats when i get annoyed. there have been countless occasion when line owners have come into mechanics and said "duhh i think my car is making this wierd rattling sound when i floor it,duhhhhhh"

mechanic:"are u putting 98 octane in it?"

"duhhhh but its so expensive"

"when was the last time u changed the oil?"

"duhh it needs oil?, the light hasnt come on yet":drooling:

Worse than child abuse in my book, at least a child can scream for its life. this is why there are so many lines out there with under 150k on em that are in need of rebuilds or new engines. Drives me nuts.

haha.

I can't beleive it when people ask if it's ok to use woolies fuel.

"Are you ****ing serious?!"

I think that part of the problem is that people buy imports because they are cheap performance, but theyre only cheap to buy. they forget to factor in the cost of maintaining a performance car.

Exactly, u measure up the cost of a v6 commo vs a line and the cost is like 3-4 times more and thats without fuel. Thats just parts and labour. Alot of ppl strech thrie budget to buy one and then start getting hit for rego tyres adn service and just freak out and sell em in under a year. Hey trust me i know :( insurance is the big killa

I personally reckon that insurance is a scam. Everyone always says that the reason companies charge so much is because the numbers justify the risk....

but explain to me how you can justify charging $4000/ys to insure a $10,000 silvia? That basically implies that EVERY silvia is going to be written off once every two years.

what a load of crap!!

Thing is that its close to true. I know a guy with a sliva and while hes a good guy hes crashed it 7 times in 6months and insurance fixed it every time. And it was a non turbo!!!

Insurance saved my ass when i had my 13k accident so i cant complain there. Well not about the insurance but i still reserve the right to bitch about the p plater that hit me and techincally i was at fault. Stoopid girl, stoopid stoopid girl.*sigh* was fun though ill never forget teh sound of crunching metal.

    • 310mm rotors will be avilable from Australia, Japan, and probably a few other places. Nothing for the front can be put on the back.
    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
