So, now that Jamboree is all over and done with, who's up for going to indy?

Unfortantly I didnt get the chance to go to Jamboree this year due to having to work both Saturday & Sunday. Was given the chance to not work on Saturday, but if it allows me to bring in extra $$'s to spend on the skyline, then that's what I'll do!

Indy's only a month away now (exactly from this day).

I'm thinkin of just headin down for the weekend and getting a wknd pass (Friday night, Saturday & Sunday entry).

Who else here is going?

Should be a good 4 day event! All those fumes, chicks, drinks, food & everythin else that comes with those indy cars & v8supercars just couldnt make things feel more better then being in a real motorsport event!

Anyone entering their car in for the Friday night event at all?

Who watches Indy cars these days?

Indy Cars = More Speed = More of a chance to hit the wall = More excitement/entertainment to watch.

Other then that. When they come down through their gears and then just take off, it sounds really awesome!

weekend pass is like $150 isnt it?

Nope. That's some special deal they are doing for a 4 day pass on TV I think.

Weekend Adult Pass - $120.00

Weekend Adult Cons. Pass - $90.00

Time to bring out the old wheel chair I think! hehe

Otherwise, you can pay each day your down there (these are adult prices, not consession prices).

Thursday - $29.00

Friday - $48.00

Saturday - $70.00

Sunday - $76.00

Rather buy the weekend pass and save myself $26 and put it towards fuel.

Ohhh yeah! If you buy your Indy tickets through Ticket, it's a free train ride down there and back.

Hope this information is handy for atleast someone! :O

I went for the Sat a few years back. ALthough it wasn' the main race it was awesome experience. I just haven't been able to make it back again :O

Yeah, I've only ever been once and that was for the whole 4 days back in 2003. Was a awesome experience and had it all video recorded and everything.

This year, I'll just be taking still pics probably as I got to organise to buy a digital camera before Indy!

Guys (and girls)

I think you're all missing the point of Indy. Its the whole weekend experience, including The unit girls :D (Anyone who has been before will know what I am taking about) :P The day parties, The nightlife, oh and the cars/alarm clock to wake you up at bloody 8am when your head feels like it should explode.

Hope to see few Skylines down there this yr, cus I'll be there! ;)

ill be there in a unit somewhere on the track

No one goes there to watch indy cars they go there for the atmosphere

If your after a bunch of yeller's from your belcony, let us know! We'll be there to yell for the chicks on your behalf while your sittin back gettin a couple of beer's down

:):D:P;)

been every yer since i was about 13... bar one year....it gets boring if your watching the racing non stop but the atmosphere is awesome...last year was particularly good...drunken balcony parties+naked chickies+plus motor racing= one friggen sick weekend!!!

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
