Theres a pic of that dr30 at the auction yards in Japan just before Ben bought it with 16 watanabes on it. Do you mind me asking around what you paid for it Disco?

Like less than 10g?

That car appeared in 2 or 3 issues I think.

:D Ya can't get much more affordable rubber than 235 45 17", commodore sizes and cheaper than the last pair of 215 50 16" I bought in the same tire.

Theres nothing wrong with a bit of stretch :D

More than 9 less than 10 , yes been in a few magszine articles out here . I'm not sure what you call a "Watanabee" but mine have Rays Engineering stickers in them and are model specific ie right on the money offset wise . They had 205 55 fronts and 225 50 rear tyres which is better than wider fronts with wrong wheel offset .

I defy anyone to get more rubber on the road without lots of caster and just a smidge of negative camber . Turn in is far better than any strut Nissan I've ever driven . With the 205's it easily has more grip than the back which is the next area to mod provided the Bluebird power rack conversion dosen't get in the way .

If anyone wants a clean DR with a bit of history it's up for grabs , I want what I paid for it .

Cheers A .

Attached is a pic of some Watanabe's :O

Must have been Ben that changed them cause the next issue containing pics of your car, the Volks were fitted.

He also had it dynoed with 127kw atw with just the cat-back e xhaust fitted.

AFR's were 14.4:1 at idle and around 11.8:1 at full load :P

edit: Sorry bout hijacking ur thread Josh

The Vulks are composite (two piece) and look to have forged centres . Four piston calipers would fall in , theres that much room around the std calipers . Yeah sorry Josh , mine is same colour but all over with no lairy stencils . Do all these RSX's have black and red interior ?

Cheers A .

Just though I'd chuck up some photos of my beast before paint work, then I can put some up after.

The motor is currently in being machined.  B)

Josh,

Can you make a template of the mount plates for your strut brace and post it to P O Box N89 Campbelltown North NSW 2560.

Tah,

Ghost rider, I have a adjustable frount strut brace (cusco I think) in my DR but is only 2 bolt per strut top. Don't know if this is what you are looking for.

Cheers

Thats Neame's DR Adam, before he had an altercation in it...

My interior is black with red inserts, i think the RSX had the stripey interior whilst the RS just had the plain black/red interior..Correct me if im wrong!!

Affordable maybe, but what do you do with the extra 10 odd Kph the speedo is under reading with these 235/45 x 17 on board.

And do you know, the optimum tyre size for any R30 is 245/45 x 16 as they have the correct dynamic radius (same as 205/60 x 15) and they have the widest tread etc, etc, etc.

Why do anything else if it's just for show?

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
