I got busted for driving my R33 GTS25t, the cop walked away with a huge grin on his face!:shake:

I had to go to court and was facing 1) loss of licence 2) extention of P's 3) $500+ in fines.

I got off with it though as i'm a fat bastard (~100kg) and that extra weight in the car was enough to put the power-to-weight down to 123kw/t :D

I don't recommend this though. I WAS VERY LUCKY the magistrate saw it my way.

hmm.... almost makes me re-think getting a R34 while i'm on my P's.... damn, i don't wanna be driving around with that sorta of consequence hanging around the back of me noggin...

hmmmmmmm *enters deep thought*

Jet,

Say stock standard series 1 with a 3 inch cat-back exhaust and 4 inch tip.

Got is standard so I could work the crap out of it and know exactly what was in there!

Thinking on doing...

1) FMIC 2) T3/4 or similar 3) BOOOOST 4) POD (if factory not up to spec) 5) new front/dump pipe 6) Engine Management

Should see about 200+ rwkw. enough for me for now!

I want to keep it looking stock though, a semi-sleeper, as the skyline badge is going to scare heaps of would-be-heros away instantly.

My car was an auction grade 4.

I got a copy of the auctioneers report and went over it with my agent, and a friend.

only 1 tiny dent in drivers door, and a small dent in passenger-side RQP, near bumper!

Have to wait until off my Ps to mod the car though! will save $$ in the process:D

phorj -

cops must be pretty hard on younger drivers out ur way cause ive pulled over by cops and im on my Ps and none of them gave a crap about it.

oh well.... only 4 more months of being on my Ps now.

I was pulled over by the wrong cop on the wrong day!

At this stage I was driving it around on a UVP (Un-Reg Vehicle Permit).

I was going to the garage (my friends) to get my cambelt done and stop a knocking from the engine.

The cop prob thought it was BS and stuck me with the ticket!

Main reason he pulled me over was no plates on my car due to no-reg at that time.

they don't target everyone with an import, but some cops do know what to look for.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
