They have onviously not complied with the contract.  I reckon you have good grounds to take it to another compliance shop. I would give DOTARS a call (be prepared for a wait) and ask them if you can change compliance shops.  Maybe call some other compliance shops (for your model) and ask them what to do if another compliance shop fails.

:P Cheers :D

nah, the car is out already...pheww!!!thank you :(

I really interested about the answer of it, can we change the compliance workshop after the car is landed here already? Is there any problem with the import approval?

because my car is sitting in the workshop for 10 months already................................and still waiting!!

any info will be deeply appreciated

hahaha, i've just gone through this whole thing about changing workshops.

short answer yes, but quite complicated.

Is your a test car? What has happened so far? How far along is the workshop?

SS8_Gohan:

yes, my car is a test car.

my car landed here Feb and sent to work shop next week after that.

Usually I contacted the workshop by phone, because I gonna work from Mon to Fri. Four months ago, they told me they have done all the things of my car aleady and booked in for inspection day as well, they are just waiting for people to come.

But I went to the workshop last month and looked at my car, it seems they haven't done nothing, the tyres, seat belt......etc is still the same as just landed...................

As you said we can change the workshop, how complicated to change it? Will it take a long time? Any info will be helpful and thanks in deep.

Don't panic. What the workshops mean by saying they have "done all the things" is that they have sent DOTARS all the evidence packs & the other guff they need. It doesn't mean they have actually finished modifying your car. Same thing happened to me. The wait for DOTARS is interminable - that will be the source of the delay, not so much the workshop.

Couple of questions:

When did the shop submit the evidence pack?

When is your inspection date?

don't know about the evidence pack, however the workshop said they have booked in four months ago, now they are still waiting it and they don't know the inspection day as well...........

are they lairs or am I too sensitive?

I`ll go sensitive

inspections can be done by DOTARS with 1 weeks notice

    • It's almost certainly a reluctor generating an "AC" waveform. No, ECUs don't generally read those - they're usually set up for PWM square wave 0-5v stuff.

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
