Hey pple, i just bought my Skyline, (from a dealer)

Its a '95 (series 1.5) GTS-T, 77000kms

Its gotta a bodykit, adjustable suspension, (might be coilovers, guy said it was worth 4grand, but could obviously be bullshitting), Manaray 17' rims

2 years warranty

manual of course!!

$17,250! on the road (16 for the car in case ur not from VIC)

(see attachment for PIC)

I know its too late but is that a good deal

Also need some advice, how much should i be paying for a brand new blitz turbotimer and how much for a second-hand no-name brand one.

Ive also had some conflicting advice regarding the compatibility of turbo-timers with immobilisers and alarms. Ive been told that i might need to buy some kind of adapter thing so that the alarm arms itself after the turbo timer has finished. Is this true, (The alarm im getting is the mongoose M60S)

thanx for any input, it would be greatly appreciated

looks nice for sure, good deal with warranty and all

imo wouldnt bother with the turbo timer for the complications u have listed bit of a gimmick just dont thrash it in the last few minutes of driving b4 turn off

if u want some power look at a 3" exhaust system or somin, if doesnt already have, but yeh nice car!!

Yeah to have the immobiliser and turbo timer work in harmony you will have it wired up specially. Something about a relay....there was an article about it on here a while ago but i cant find it anymore..

I took mine to my local car audio electrician (Alberts) and they rigged it up for $80 (also got my hand thingie re-coded at the time).

Now the immobiliser automically arms 45 seconds after the turbo timer turns turns off. Much better peace of mind.

The guy reckons he can switch over either a 3.5' or 4' exhaust from another skyline after they're done with compliancing. He says he'll do it for $350. U reckon it will be worth it? I've got 3 to pick from, should i just go for the best sounding one, or just the bigggest one?

Thanx for the tip with the turbo-timer, it does sound like a bit of a gimmick. Not worth all the hassels i reckon too.

Mines a laserline system - dont ask the version, i dunno.

I agree, if you aint gonna fang the car around at events and such a turbo timer really is just rice...how hard is it to sit around with the keys in for an extra 45 seconds anyway :D

If your alarm has a turbo timer interface then it may be easier than u think to hook it up, could just be a matter of connecting the timer to the alarm (correct me if im wrong). Obviously you'l need a manual specific to that alarm to tell you what goes where though.

3"/3 1/2" exhaust is heaps if you dont plan on running large'ish boost figures...imo a smaller exhaust sounds nicer than a larger one :D

Oh, and heaps of information about the whole TT + alarm issue can be found here :

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
