i reckon we buy one (A FEW guys) and loan it between each other.id love to use it but only for a week or so, as a long term months procject it would be useless but for weeks it would be fine

Yeah that would be good heh, I mean, most people only would want to use it once or twice probably and any minor adjustments after that can be easily done with the hand controller, hardly worth the $500.

Personally I think they are a little on the pricey side, really, it's basically 1/2 of the cost of the whole powerFC unit again. I'd pay $200-300 for this sort of thing, but $500 is really pushing it a bit.

Ok, for tuning purposes the hand controller does basically the same as the datalogit. BUT there are a hell of a lot more fetures which imho make it worth the little extra...do a search and you may be suprised what you can do with it :) from SK:

OK, but only the ones that you can't access via the Commander

Inlet air temp fuel map

Water temp fuel map

RPM acceleration fuel map

Cranking Injector dwell map

Water temp versus boost fuel correction

Inlet air temp versus boost fuel correction

RPM Load Point table

AFM load point table

AFM voltage table

Ignition versus water temp correction

Ignition versus inlet air temp correction

Ignition dwell versus RPM correction

Ignition versus battery voltage correction

Ignition versus boost correction

Individual injector trim

Injector lag versus battery voltage correction

Via the Datalogit there is also;

Antilag via injection

Antilag via ignition

Intercooler spray

Basically anything that you want to turn on or off

Then there is the logging

Every standard sensor is logged

Plus 4 others (eg; lambda, brake temperature, suspension travel etc etc)

as well as :

All of which are important once you reach the limitations of the stock afm/load point base map setup.

Swapping to a Z32 or VH41/Q45 AFM does zilch in its own.

Software is required.

There's also the A/C and non a/c overheat fan temp switch.

see? The power FC is not to be laughed at... its not a bad little unit at all.

Oh and the guys wanting to use a datalogit on a few different types of cars - you can't. Just like the hand controller, you need a specific version for a specific power fc.

sorry.

If you get the newest version of FC daalogit it will work on old versions..

My powerfc is a much newer one - I've been waiting a couple of weeks for the tuner to get the updated software..

P.s. When using the FC datalogit do you just use the Connection where the hand controller connects. I've made an extension cord for that so I dont have to keep taking it on and off the mounting position.

What is the other non round connection on the powerfc for?

Cheers

It works on older versions of the same car. But you cannot use it between makes and models of vehicle.

Yes it goes into the hand controller round plug.

I think the other connector on the PowerFC is for the optional APEXI Boost controller.

well, the guy got back to me and he said that he'll do 10% discount on 10 units, and 15% discount on 15 units..

so yeah, I can't see many people ordering anyway. Still wondering if I should get one.

ok, well, I'll give it a try.

So far we have -

1. The Mafia

2. Beer Baron

3. Stolly

4. Snowman

This is what I am thinking. When we have a confirmed 10 or 15, I'm gonna need the money up front, and I am gonig to need to pay him to get in the order. Could take up to 3 weeks.

If everyone is cool with this, let me know. There are quite a few forum members here that know me well, and will let you know that I am reliable and not out to get anyone. I just want my datalogit! lol.

Would it be a good idea for me to gt him to ship them to separate addresses, or get them all shipped to me and then distribute them from there? Dunno how he'd want to do that. I guess if I shipped them it would be extra freight. So probably not a good idea. I'd just give him 10 or 15 addresses.

Has anyone gotten a quote off the New Zealand site to see if they are cheaper? I trie to email them but they never responded.

Let me know any more thoughts of suggestions. I am new to group buys.

Updated List guys -

1. The Mafia

2. Beer Baron

3. Stolly

4. Snowman

5. Bl4cK32

Do I have to register something with SAU or something to do a group buy?

and here are the features from Bl4cK32's post -

    • THERE IS NO IAT SENSOR ON ANY SINGLE TURBO RB. And the one on an RB26 is not for "engine control" - it's really too big and too slow and is only used for over-temp alarming (as far as I can tell). Anyway, you don't have one. You want/need one for the Link, then you need to buy one, find a spot for it, and wire it in. You do know that the stock boost solenoid is not capable of "control", right? It is merely on or off, for the low boost (5 psi) and high boost (7psi), which the ECU enforces mostly based on gear. The stock solenoid is not for PWM control and is not plumbed up in a way to provide it. If you want to control boost properly, then you need a proper MAC valve. And yes, you can wire either of them direct to the ECU. Well, I assume you can - I don't know what the boost solenoid pins on the plug and play Link are capable of. They really should be as capable as any normal Link - but seeing as it is plg and play, it might be limited to stock functionality. Read the doco.   You really do just want to plug stuff together without understanding how it works, right? I can't help you there. I don't know the plug types or pinning on half the stuff you're asking about. If I had to do it I would sit down with the wiring diagrams, the car/looms and a multimeter and work out what is what.
    • Light should be a pressure switch, not a sensor.
    • The pressure light likely has a different sender to a pressure gauge, its been too long for me to remember for sure. Just have a look for another sender down near the oil filter. If you are confident in your rewired pressure sender reading correctly, you can be pretty sure it is just the dash light's sender failing, it is a pretty common thing.
    • It would be nice to see the result, but instagram is a click too far
    • That is a series 1 front end (grill, bumper, headlights). I'm not sure if you are trying to confirm if your whole car is series 1 or just the headlights, but the build date and vin# on the plaque in the engine bay would be the best reference for what it was when it left the factory (noting a lot may have changed over the years)
