Hi everyone. My name is George and I'm your Treasurer. This means that I look after the money you pay the club and am accountable for it to YOU the members. I've posted this so that you can all see where your money goes and to answer any questions you might have.

The money you pay to join the club will go towards the following things-

-Set up costs of club already spent

-Stickers

-Printing of forms and other administrative costs like postage

-CAMS affiliation and your license. We will be joining when we have a decent member base of around 30-40. Prior to that it is not worth wasting your money as we will not make use of the liability cover.

-Deposits for track days. This is a huge expense so we need to build up a healthy bank balance.

-SAU bbq's. snags for our big meets.

-SAU goods. eg, shirts, hats, coffee mugs, keychains, undies (well, maybe not) but you get the idea. You want it, we will sell it in due time. As you can imagine we have to pay for these before we can pass them on to you at discounted prices (for members)

-For your money you will also get discounts at shops. We might not have many now but it can only grow and say you get a 10% discount on a $500 item and you have already made up the member fee you paid us.

-Charity. I hope that one day we might be able to donate to less fortunate ppl. eg, we might have another charity cruise like the one Mysfit had not long ago and we could donate $1 for every $10 we get from everyone.

-Other things will pop up without a doubt in the course of our expansion

As you can see the expenses can get quiet high and things will only start happening when we can afford them. You might not see it now and think that the money you spend now will go to waste but that is not so.

At the annual general meeting I will make a presentation breaking down our income and expenses for the year. Also at any time and with some warning I can present you with a snapshot of our books.

If you do not have anything constructive to say or ask do not post here. Thanks for reading and I hope you will join the club.

George M

Hey George M,

Thanks for the info... tis nice to know where our money goes.

I have one Question though.

When I joined SAU at the last eastern creek track day we selected a sticker and apparently we get a mambership card. I don't mind waiting but I was wondering how long till we might see these in the mail. Just a rough estimate is fine... so I know when to start getting excited.

Cheers,

Dan.

Dan,

Shell is our sticka chick and she also does the membership cards. We're hoping that a few more members will join this weekend after which she will run off a batch of stickers and membership cards for you guys. We haven't done them yet as it was not feasable financially for a handfull of members. However, she should be running off a fair few stickers so that we are stocked up for future members. The membership cards are a different matter as they have to printed with your details so they will always be slightly delayed. Seeing as you have already joined though yours will be among the first ones to arrive.

Shell can probably give you a better timeframe than I can though.

Thanks for the update George, on a forum like this it sometimes seems kinda informal - its good to hear things are getting organised.

One thing that seemed to be missing is cost of the forums, which I understand are getting quite expensive. Does the club support the forums or should we be making donations to those costs seperately.

Also, great to hear an AGM is coming, any idea when and where?

Keep up the great work, all the team!

No problem guys, I should have posted something to this effect sooner but in my ignorance I assumed everyone knew it took alot 'a cash to keep something like this going.

I didn't include the cost of the forums as that side of things is kept seperate from the club. Reason being, Prank picks up the costs for now and hopefully donations from you guys will reimburse him. We haven't seen anywhere near the amount in donations but Prank has been generous enough to be out of pocket and not complain loud enough. I know not many of us would absorb the costs without complaining loudly so he deserves your thanks. Not in words though, money speaks louder. Donations can be made through here.

In the future the forums should be supported by the clubs of each state in equal part but for now with not much money in the account (or none at all for the other states) it's a bit hard. We are relying on everyones generosity for the time being.

The AGM will be held a month out from the financial year end on the first Sunday of June which makes it the 1st of June. So far we have been holding our exec meetings at The Oaks out North of the bridge. That venue doesn't seem like it could accomodate for a larger meeting so we will post a final date, time and place closer to the day.

I also forgot to mention that paying members have the right to vote at our AGM. If you are not happy with the current executive committee you can nominate and vote on other members for the particular role.

Voting isn't restricted to just choosing committee members too. Any and all major issues will be voted on.

This is where you can shape the future of your club so exercise your right to vote.

Majanal, the main delay has been that on the track day we received about 9 membership forms, but we knew there were a number of people who couldn't make it on the day who were sending their forms via mail....so I was waiting to recieve these.

I now have around 26 member forms and I will be making up stickers/cards this week...

And once again, if anyone is keen to join up...send me a qik email and I'll send you back a form in PDF format (email details are in my sig ;) )

thanks for your patience guys!!

Miss Secretary,

Shell :)

Minh, keep the money cause I owe you anyway and I'll give $65 to Chrisitan. I hate owing ppl. Makes me feel like you own my :shake:

Put the form in your car and I'll collect it when I see you next or you can mail it to our post office box. I'll post the address tonight cause I can't remember it.

Minh, I'll be gong to Homebush on Sunday for a short while (details:http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...25&pagenumber=4)

Like I said on ICQ, if you see George or URMINE before then pass it on to them. We'll be seeing Prank at the Exec. Meeting on Sunday night, so we can pass it on to him then.

    • Also, I logged some data from the ECU for each session (mostly oil pressures and various temps, but also speed, revs etc, can't believe I forgot accelerator position). The Ecutek data loads nicely to datazap, I got good data from sessions 2, 3 and 4: https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-2?log=0&data=7 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-3?log=0&data=6 https://datazap.me/u/duncanhandleyhgeconsultingcomau/250813-wakefield-session-4?log=0&data=6 Each session is cut into 3 files but loaded together, you can change between them in the top left. As the test sessions are mostly about the car, not me, I basically start by checking the oil pressure (good, or at least consistent all day). These have an electrically controlled oil pump which targets 25psi(!) at low load and 50 at high. I'm running a much thicker oil than recommended by nissan (they said 0w20, I'm running 10w40) so its a little higher. The main thing is that it doesn't drop too far, eg in the long left hand fish hook, or under brakes so I know I'm not getting oil surge. Good start. Then Oil and Coolant temp, plus intercooler and intake temps, like this: Keeping in mind ambient was about 5o at session 2, I'd say the oil temp is good. The coolant temp as OK but a big worry for hot days (it was getting to 110 back in Feb when it was 35o) so I need to keep addressing that. The water to air intercooler is working totally backwards where we get 5o air in the intake, squish/warm it in the turbos (unknown temp) then run it through the intercoolers which are say 65o max in this case, then the result is 20o air into the engine......the day was too atypical to draw a conclusion on that I think, in the united states of freedom they do a lot of upsizing the intercooler and heat exchanger cores to get those temps down but they were OK this time. The other interesting (but not concerning) part for me was the turbo speed vs boost graph: I circled an example from the main straight. With the tune boost peaks at around 18psi but it deliberately drops to about 14psi at redline because the turbos are tiny - they choke at high revs and just create more heat than power if you run them hard all the way. But you can also see the turbo speed at the same time; it raises from about 180,000rpm to 210,000rpm which the boost falls....imagine the turbine speed if they held 18psi to redline. The wastegates are electrically controlled so there is a heap of logic about boost target, actual boost, delta etc etc but it all seems to work well
    • hahah when youtube subscribers are faster than my updates here. Yes some vid from the day is up, here:  Note that as with all track day videos it is boring watching after the bloopers at the start.  The off was a genuine surprise to me, I've literally done a thousand laps around the place and I've never had instability there; basically it rolled into oversteer, slipped, gripped and spat me out. On the way off I mowed down one of the instructor's cones and it sat there all day looking at me with accusing cone eyes as I drove past. 1:13:20 was my fastest lap, and it was in the second session, 3rd lap.  It (or me!) got slower throughout the day as it got hotter.
    • It sounds like you want what the Toyota Landcruisers have for their roof racks. Wanna know what you end up with? Rust holes in the roof, and water everywhere...
    • Discovered today that if I select reverse first and take my foot off the brake, then select drive, the drive indicator light works and so does the tiptronic gear indicator.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Does anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
