60% mate.

$600 is very good, what is the insured value. Mine was $25k for $1000 but, its a 'work use' thingo.

If they come at insuring imports you should see if they give you a bonus for signing up new business.

Im with western QBE also, 2 years NCB, costs me $1300 a year. Ive been told mine will drop to $950 this year too (26 tomorrow!)

QBE wont insure imports at all if its new business though, they require you to have an exsisting policy, because theyre s.hit scared you'll go elsewhere. So transfer your home and contents over to them as well.

I also qualify for 10 percent discount, being a season ticket holder at Perth Oval. Handy when your insurance bill is over a grand a year.

rev,

Mines insured for $26K. It's getting harder and harder for new people to insure the cars, even if your old. I haven't bothered looking around much, I've got a good price, just have to make sure I never have an accident.

I had my Pulsar insure with them so i phoned them up, asked about their policy on imports.... quoted and accepted the insurance on my R32 for $1300.

Put the phone down

Called back 2 minutes later: "Hi id like to cancel my policy on my Nissan pulsar" "Sure no worries"

Its worth going with them, ive spoken to panel beaters numerous times about which company is best to deal with and QBE comes out on top all the time. SGIO apparently have the biggest rep for not paying up on customers.

gts-t vspec, are you over 25?

i've had an NA car insured with wetern qbe for about 5 years (60%). i tried to get my mr2 insured and they said i had to be over 25 if i wanted insurance for the super charger.

did i speak to the wrong guy? i was half tempted to say it was NA but decided against it.

cheers

aw11,

I am currently 25, but my insurance was still less than $800 even when I was under 25. It really does depend who you speak to, if you get a sympathetic person they can do all sorts of deals. The guy I spoke to loved Skylines, so I get a good deal.

I will never understand the huge difference in prices, some people at 33 are paying more than I was at 23, doesn't make any sense. The insurance is what is killing the import business, young peope are paying over $3000 a year to get a car, it's just ridiculous.

yep, i'm 25 with HBF for $1080 on 40% no claims, insured for $25K. they were the cheapest i found after calling close to 20 companies in Perth and over east. next best i think was Famous with a quote around $1600, a guy i work with recently insured (i think!) an R34 with them too. about time some of the "mainsteam" companies got back into imports

Beeble, that is a pretty good price, hopefully with revs 60% NCB, then his would be even cheaper.

I tend to do all of my insurance through the one company as they give you discount on all your insurance if you have house, contents and car with them.

I'm giving the RAC the arse.

I pay around $1,000 a year for my 1995 gtst, a good price but, if I can get close somewhere else I'm going!

Who is the kick arse insurer to sign with?

If you have a clean record and 60% NCB, try Torque .. I'm paying $831 p/a for $24,000.

Hrmm. Well i'm 20 and finding it very difficult to find insurance. You guys have a bit better chance then what I do.

I've been with RAC for 3 years with however many % NCB that is and only. Soon as I mension Import or Skyline, i'm rejected.

However, I have an insurance guy running around looking at insurance for me. The best he came up with, was $3300 and recommended I go for it, even if I have to take a loan. I though, nah F**K that! I think he just wants whatever commission he gets!

I know you guys have talked about this previously in your other posts, but I think i've been through nearly every insurer.

Anyone got any last suggestions, even for 3RD PARTY!!

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
