This Sunday is round four of the Octagon Series at Baskerville.

So far the Skylines entered are a bit lean with a few missing, but still a good mix anyway...

Group A

29 - Rodney Willits - R32 GTR

81 - David Ayers - R33 GTR V-Spec

62 - Stuart Benson - R32 GTR V-Spec II (Don't expect anything to much from me though!!)

Targa Group B

18 - Kerry Kuck - R32 GTSt M-Spec

26 - Mark Perry - R32 GTSt M-Spec (10 points if you can actually read the signwritting)

Plenty of other machinery too with Greg Garwood's 996 Turbo doing battle the wild Targa Torana's of Peter O'Keefe and Kim Barwick. Laurie Williams is running his 20B RX7, there is a coupe of Evo's running too, as well as an STi, RX7 SP, Integra Type R and the ex-Peter Fitzgerald GTP Porsche 968 Turbo RS being run by Mark Connolley from Melbourne. Very cool car and is an awesome thing to drive.

Looks coming out for a look?

Wasn't a bad day at baskerville today, a few skylines on track, it was hot as weather... loved the ICS R33 it sounded sweet as!

also a heap of nice imports cruzin around hobart this arvo...

i was followng a real nice white R32 GTR AND R33 GTR with r34 gtr wheels... anyone on here?

cheers...Luke

Apologies for my dismal performance! Water temp was the main cause of my problems. Investigating a new radiator and thermostat already. That said, the day did give me a good chance to bed-in and suss out my new front brakes, which I cam very very happy with... except now I would really like to even out the braking force and therefore need a rear upgrade too!

Contrags to Mark Perry (26motorsport) on winning Group B in the GTSt.

sav man - Pretty much OK for Targa as is. I ran it at Rallye Burnie back in June and they have the same technical rules. The current rear muffler is oversized for Targa, but its too loud in the car anyway so I'm swapping that over soon.

Does this hit the track much? sounds interesting

Its been at the last three Octagon Series rounds and Laurie Williams who owns it wants to run it on the mainland in Sports Sedans....but its still full steel body.

And i think if it runs like it did then he may have a chance over there as well considering the weight of it still!!!!

Mark gets driver of the day and class win again :)

SKYLINE POWER thats all i have to say, and his excellent pit crew

Hopefully get a few more of us there next season to represent and take it to the older fellas :D

Was a good day racing and look forward to Symmonds now

Cheers B

dunno if i would be elligible for octagon B, but im more than happy to help in the pits for you :)

maybe we can get the kart out :)

or just do club days

My plan is to start with club days and get as much track time as i can so i can get the best set up for the blue pig.

Then it will be Class C next year :)

    • A 1.5 way is a 2 way. It is just a 2 way with a less aggressive ramp on overrun.
    • The ABS and/or TCS being missing/broken will not cause the engine to misbehave. It just casues CEL to come on and annoy you. The CEL is useless if it is always on, so you have to do the things you have to do to get rid of it, so it can be useful. Being a Stag ECU, then yes, it will not expect TCS to be present. But it will expect ABS to be present and working. You will need to either make the ABS CU talk to the ECU (don't ask me what that will take on an NA R34), and make sure the hardware is working....or, you just need to blank it out in Nistune. Do not persist with the stock ECU. You will just have problems. Gte it Nistuned. Start from there. DO YOU HAVE A BOOST SENSOR? The ECU's boost sensor that it. It is connected to the loom at the rear of the coil cover. Usually rides on the firewall on an R34, but is usually bolted down to a bracket along with all the other crap at the back of the coil cover when a Neo is dropped into another car. If you do not have it, the ECU will shit the bed. So, do you have one?
    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
