13.4 second 1/4 for your 'stockish' R33. (A how to guide).

gts-vspec,

You didn't have the wing on when you did the 13.5, what about the other times you went down?

And didn't you take 10% out of the mixtures while you were there too?

judd,

You should just PM Rhino, he's a WA boy so have a look for him on the WA side of the forum.

rev,

No I haven't bothered ever running with the wing on, apparently it does make a noticable difference, slower when its on due to the drag.

The only mixtures I've change is to take out some fuel at idle, nothing related to the power.

Judd,

Rhino's previoous best was somewhere in the mid 13's, so don't be too dishearted. Once your comfortable with the car you can start launching and shifting harder, you will see your times tumble.

Ive run my best times with no BOV

Will put one back on once i fix some problems associating it,

I dont get any lag..at all! Just puts a little extra pressure on the turbo between gear changes and sounds a little poofy!

Rev i think you need to do a few mid 13s to back up most of the how to do a 13.5 bla bla with stock bla blas, or maybe im just Jealous :D

I should be ready for a squirt next wednesday at kwinana for steady high 12s

I wish I was that consistant, but on my last time down most runs were under 14, which is good. My 60' times are getting better with 2.1's and 2.2's mainly.

Works Auto ran a 13.3 the other day, and he said that his MPH was higher and thought that it may have been becasue of removing his GTR rear wing. Do wings, if there not very high, cause much drag?

Guest Works Auto

Just adding my 2 cents worth here.

On ,y 32 i decided to stick with the stock BOV until it started leaking boost. But last night ran 17psi still not leaking.

It works really well , never gives any trouble and the mixtures stay perfect. its staying for a while now :D

40RCD ran a 13.4 @ 108mph with automatic trans, 15psi boost, avgas and toulene, timing advanced, 3 inch exhaust about 3 years ago before it got heavily modified. oh it was good fun on the streets!! wheelspun all through first into second for abit then took off. had many good race against my other mates VL turbo with the same mods.

rev210: i reckon you'll break 12s if you strip your rear seats to the boot

i ran 13.4@103mph with full exhaust, airfilter (pod style no shield), bov, 1bar with EBC and stripped interior from rear seats to boot. everything else is stock including drivetrain, suspension and tyre pressure.

i believe a street car should run 'as is' without deflating tyre pressures or changing suspension setup :D

VISHES,

I agree with you about 'street trim' thats why I haven't put slicks on the car. Everything else I do is 'street trim' including the tyre pressure. I drove around after the drags with 20psi in my tyres, I just don't fang it around corners.

The 12 pass is there without stripping weight, the mph is high enough if I can reduce the 60ft to 2.0 or 1.9. That would probably require some better tyres, which I can't be bothered buying till these ones wear out, after all its a work car.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
