Oooops said too much :) lol

You did? I think he has no recollection so you're gonna have to go through it again....

I think a few people need to take a chill pill.....

BrendanF: What is your solution to this problem? You don't seem to want the endless joke posts of Team Westside in the NSW forum, yet you don't want a dedicated Team Westside forum. How can we get around this?

You also need to realise that the whole Westside thing has nothing to do with geography, it's a group of friends that started in the west & has now spread all over Sydney. It is far from exclusive. The only criteria for joining is that you just wanna have a good time & forget about all the politics that are happening on this board nowadays......

Cereal et al,

I am happy to re-iterate myself once more, so in good faith and without prejudice I will declare my opinion (NOTE: ONLY MY OPINION again, NOTE : not having a go any any person here)

At no point have I ever (EVER EVER) said that there was a problem with the jokes, gay comments and the like in the NSW section. I have repeatedly stated that I enjoy the TW antics. Thus, And yes, it is unfortunate that I haven't been to a TW meet yet so you guys could get to know me a little better. It's not that I don't go to any meets BTW, I have met heaps of nice people at track days, cruzes, dyno days and the likes. (Don't you guys look in the other sections on the forums ?? I have posted heaps of dialog and photos from these times) I will also share with you my understanding (note : understanding and NOT inititiated by me) that the mods felt that the gay/jokes/comments/etc in the NSW were not offensive enough to FORCE TW to initiate the so called private forum. In fact, I think, the majority of folks (like myself) enjoy the TW antics. As you all know I am a mod of the NSW section - Is there ANY incident of my moderation that offended or controlled the TW posts ?? If there is I apologise and would welcome a reference to the offense.

I really find it sad, time consuming and totally unforefilling to have to post these kinds of replys.

My ONLY issue is with any, group or sub group of SAU (except mods, cause u need them) having the privilage to have a private section to them selves on the forums. And I really don't give a toss what ppl are posting in these sections.

There are two solutions to this problem:

1) Give NSW, VIC, WA, ACT, SA, TAS, NT, and all the other sub groups below these , their own private section so they can all be gay/offensive/take the piss etc out our own respective group of friends and buddies..

OR

2) Remove the TW private forum and make it public (with disclaimer if you like)

NOTE TO ALL - I don't say remove the TW section, just make it public, with disclaimer.

Then all groups, states, and sub groups are even and equal. No bitching and quarelling. No secrets to SAU members...

There you go two solutions - anyone got another one that is WIN-WIN ???

I am really really sad , sorry and bemused why this issue has come to the extent of me posting this reply......

Final note to all : If you think I am being un-fair , send a note to Prank, Dino, Minh or any other SAU mods or execs. Or post a poll. What ever comes out of it , that's OK, for I know for myself that I am being fair and just to all SAU members.

Peace, Love and Skylines everyone . . . . . . . .

I agree with cereal's post...

Team Westside is (from what i read on here) simply a bunch of mates sharing good times and stories, jokes etc.

How anyone could be offended by thier material is something i find confusing... There is alot of BS happening in seemingly every other section of the forums... The NSW stuff posted by team westside is always: in good humour, fun, informative and friendly, there is no prejudice/bias or ill feeling... this is not the case with alot of threads outside NSW/ Team Westside...

Thats why i post and read in the NSW threads these days... Because with Team Westside and alot of you NSW guys it aint about ego, where your from, looking big or who has the most posts... Its about the Cars.... Its about having fun....

Thats why I joined here and i respect that more than anything....

Nice one Ryan - please stay asleep !!

Cereal - if there is no Geography involved then why is it Team Westside and not SAU ???

And, if you wanted it left to the mods, why did you ask me to come up with a solution ?? And I gave you two solutions....

Smooth - I think you agreeing with me re TW is fun !! Let's share it with everyone !! Not keep it private.

FFS - if I am alone here, then I QUIT ! ( good one Ryan & TW - you won fellas !!)

It's not my place to argue this issue, so I'm gonna accept whatever decision is made by the moderators.

I will make one last comment though:

You will reach an agreement alot sooner if you stop changing your stance on the issues at hand.

Just one question, and I apologise if I missed this whilst I was in Japan, but I don't understand the reasoning behind making it hidden in the first place?

If people complained about TW thread overtaking the NSW forums (ROFL!), and a seperate forum was made to accomodate them, why make it hidden?

Personally I think TW is part of NSW, and shouldn't be segregated like it is now. I enjoyed reading the funny TW threads.

You get the point. Why can't everyone else?

Then why the need to make it Private ???

    • Photo of manifold showing gate location? I mean, it's 6Boost, so we probably shouldn't be worrying, but always wroth knowing what the layout is. Plumbed back to atmosphere? Or into the dump?
    • Yes correct. Also, I'd avoid applying it to soft paint (however I doubt you'll ever have to deal with it in practice). So any paint that hasn't fully hardened, could be a 1k paint that never fully hardened or it could be a 2k paint that was laid down thick and hasn't yet fully hardened.
    • Bit of an update to this one. Having some issues on the dyno that held us back (boost spiking) and I want to pass some info over you guys and see what you think is wrong with my setup. The current readout on this dyno is 462rwkw on a low reading dyno so keep in mind it is a real world 500rwkw setup on a hub dyno. Don't read into the power figure too much as a sign of the issue. The short and curly of it is: 2.8 Litre Racepace build RB25 NEO N/A Head with VCT (internally standard however ) Borgwarner EFR 8474  Turbosmart 50mm Straight Gate + Mac valve 6Boost Manifold 4" dump to full 4" exhaust (nil restrictions) Wastegate plumbed back in and all angles in the exhaust system are acceptable and not too sharp. GFB SV52 BOV in cooler piping  Turbosmart BOV in EFR Housing   The issue we are having is it comes onto full boost for example at 4000rpm and spikes to 24/25psi, before dropping down to 17psi before slowly rising back up to the target boost of 23psi. It was extremely uncontrollable and the tuner actually had to ramp in boost progrssively with each 1000rpm on each boost setting we selected to try and reduce the amount of spiking. Sometimes we would see a drop of 10psi from the peak at the beginning of the run, to the low, until it took the next 500-1000rpm to stabilise back up to the target boost. The tuner is pretty confident that the straight gate is just a poorly designed product and leaks too much boost upon cracking the gate open and theres no way to fix it other than going to a poppet valve. He's also confient theres no ignition breakdown or floating valves. The fueling is extremely stable as well. Turbo speed is somewhere around the 109,000rpm area. The spanner in the works for me is that prior to this Borgwarner and StraightGate, the car was tuned on -5 twins at a diferent tuner, and he also had issues controlling the boost with it spiking around the same rpm range, so to me this sounds like the same issue and it can't be anything on the turbo side as this was all changed and I think the behaviour is extremely similar, if not the same. We also removed the mac valve and did a run on wastegate pressure and it still spiked and had the same behaviour. My thoughts on possibilities are: Boost Leak VCT Cam Gear isn't reliably activating consistently - (On this however, we did a run with the VCT disabled and the boost still spiked) Turbosmart BOV is not handling the boost? However this seems unlikely to not be able to handle 20psi. I have a couple of logs that I can't make sense of if anybody knows how to read them and can obtain further logs of other parameters if they are not enough, happy to pay for anyones time. The dyno readout with the power figure is the most recent last week. The other picture is from two weeks prior to that where we couldn't break 400kw (we removed the cat), however the issue of the boost control persisted. @Lithium @Piggaz @burn4005 @GTSBoy @discopotato03 I've tagged those that were quite active in recent pages here, no disrespect to those that know turbos well but I missed tagging. Cheers
    • I recently purchased a 2018 Infiniti Q60, which has an SD card navigation map. I can see my system has options for real time traffic updates etc, and am wondering if there is something I can purchase to get this working? I can see there are at least updated maps for USA and Canada, but nothing for Australia. Surely Infiniti took changing road systems and city expansions into account when they decided to use an inbuilt navigation over Android Auto/Apple Car Play, or are we doomed to drive on streets that don't exist in the navigation system if you drive to a new area?
