Hey guys,

I went into the RTA today and asked about engine conversions, and what’s required etc.

Basically I wanted to upgrade to a turbo-charged engine, However that would require too much effort. So I asked about the Rb25de upgrade, and the fellow said that it was fine as long as the car came out with the same suspension, and brake setup. He told me that I had to get real documents from the Nissan dealer, but being an import I wasn't sure if they would have them.

So basically what i'm after is the stock non turbo 1995 R33 GTS25 specifications. I have a non turbo 1995 R33 GTS which is a 2.0L but I wouldn't think the brakes would differ from model to model.

So if anyone has these details (yes I’ve searched) it would be helpful if I could get them. Also I was thinking about going to the Nissan dealership tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea if they carry this information on their computers?

All I require is the dimensions of the brakes, and basically suspension setup, years released, type of engine etc.

Thanks in advanced.

Dayne

the simplest way to do it it to swap the brakes from the rb25de donor car. or go to a wrecker and measure the diameter.

you can go the turbo route many have done it my self included (on an r32) swap engine brakes and rear diff and you have have an r33 turbo spec. car ore pricey though.the performance difference from the rb 20 e to the rb25 de is pretty good. my cefiro with an rb25de made 105 rwkw the rb20e would have been lucky to make 70 rwkw.

good luck

btw there is some infomation on these pages on my site

as far as i know the brakes onm the turbo are 5 pot with the brake pads being the same aswell as the rotors being slightly larger. As for the suspension it should be the same, but i think maybe go to one of skylinekids group buys is the way to go, i also think you hay have to change gear box and clutch...

The brakes may be different as i have a R33 gts25 and when i needed new pads the pads for the R33gts didnt fit dont know if thats the information ur after plus a pod adapters for a 33gts dont fit ether i had a custom one made.

my pod filter adapter was the same as an r33 gts25t

the r33gts25 have:

twin piston sliding calipers for the fronts

single piston sliding calipers for the rears

the r33 gts25t have:

four pot sumitomo calipers for the fronts

twin pot sumitomo calipers for the rear

the turbo calipers are bigger and chunkier (from 6 pots total na, to 12 pots total turbo) rotors are bigger and chunkier.

i wasnt asking about turbo, i was asking simply the specifications in (mm's) of the size of the rotars on the Na.

The pod filters dont fit? wtf thats odd.. mine was off a r33 gts25t and it fit straight up. Brake pads..? the brake padds are only listed for rb25de, rb25det and rb26dett in the 1995 skyline range, so i dont see how you could of got gts padds.. maybe the guy just had no idea?

Thanks for all the info though everyone, specially Eug. That was heaps helpful. Just one question though how can i tel the sliding calipers and how many pot they are?

Cheers

give me a minute mate and i'll take a photo of my old calipers

These are R33 GTS25 calipers, they came off my 1994 GTS.

and these are 4 pot sumitomo calipers - these are R32 GTSt , but the R33 GTSt ones look very very similar (minus the ribbed bits on the top)

DSC00659.JPG

very noticeable difference between the two types. (i know you didnt want turbo specs - but just to compare and show the difference)

anyway the R33 gts25 rotor specs for the according to dba are as follows:

FRONTS:

Vented, 280mm diameter, thickness including hat = 49mm, thickness of the rotor disc = 26mm,

I cannot find any specs on the rears, and i dont have my rear rotors and calipers anymore because NA_R33 (John) has them now.
