The old WA chapter seems to be getting some wind in the sails again.

I'll answer them the best i can and please no whoring.

ps: to be feasable we would need 30+ paying members in the first year. This cost would be about $85 per person in the first year and $35 after that.

For 50+ paying members in the first year. This cost would be about $70 per person in the first year and $25 after that.

anything less than 30 paying members isn't financially feasable or worth the time and effort.

Well i think Skyzer 1st of all said something about members pack being a shirt, cap and sticker? could be wrong but i thought i read that... is that right?

Well if so then thats worth a bit already and the SAU sticker remember lads always adds and extra 5 rear wheel horsepower.

In theory we get more then 30 ppl on some of our cruises so i reckon we will make it. Do we need to register and get an ABN and do all that kinda crap? i havent been keeping up to date with the goinings on over east. Will we need insurance for the club? whos gonna do all this, oh dont get me wrong im glad to help where i can, maybe we should start appointing reps for SAUWAC (skylines australia west aussie chapter)

I think some discounts apply to insurance and that and some workshops or performance stores may be willing to do the same. Plus it means if u guys are paying u may wanna actually turn up to track days etc so they should be cheaper too

Would you HAVE to own a Skyline to join the club, or will other import cars be accepted ?

Just thought I'd ask since there are a few people on the boards who don't actually own a Skyline, but enjoy the chats and would probably also join the club.

I know that this would detract from it being a Skylines WA club, but it may help increase the member numbers.

Yeh too true IMHO we should have 'lines only for club represetation eg. MC team must be purely 'lines unless ppl want a B team. As u said there are alot of us including myself who would join but dont nessacarrily have a 'line. Never know i may have 1 soon

Yeah, that's fair enough - for events it should be 'lines only.

For all the other stuff (cruises, bbq's, booze-ups) everyone should be allowed to join in.

Since I haven't got a 'line yet either... Go the B Team !!! :uh-huh:

I don't think we should limit it to just Skylines, any Jap import or other car enthusiast should be welcome, unless they drive an Excel or Lancer, haha.

In competitions and Auto salons then only those cars that would respresent the club well should be allowed in, we want a performance based club, not another ricer.

i'll check into it admin can do it but mods can't. as far as i'm aware.

initial joining fee pays for the administration and setting up of an incorperated club.

Yes this means a business name and ABN. Yes we need public liability insurance, but this is provided by CAMS to all CAMS affiliated car clubs, its cheaper to get the insurance this way than through a broker or insurance company plus u get the bonous associated with being CAMS affiliated.

CAMS affiliation gives the club the ability to provide CAMS licenses, CAMS training for people who wish to become motorsport officals, 20-200 million Public Liability cover. We can hold our motorsport events, CAMS affiliated clubs also get discounts at some insurance providers and car part shops.

Also when u join we would provide a club t-shirt, cap, sticker and membership card (these things would need to be worked out).

Being recogonised as an incorperated club would allow us to approach companies to get club member discounts for mods and rice, for insurance etc. We could enter events as one club.

Yes you could join if you didn't own a skyline, as in the constatution thats in use by NSW and VIC (which we would adopt) its a skyline enthusiats club and all imports are welcome.

At events like a MC event the No:1 team would need to be all skylines any other teams any member and there vehicle can take a spot. At car shows all members would be welcome, might have main display with skylines and others surrounding etc.

I think that a performance based club, with a similar vane to the WA Sporting Car Club, except primarily for Import Vehicles. I think that there are many area in which we could see ourselves entering, including Auto-salons, dyno-shootouts, drags, Motorkhana's etc, which would make us unique in WA. There is some room for a bit of rice, but a club based on hard street-driven import vehicles is my idea.

Please feel free to suggest other approaches.

if only skylines are allowed to participate in the team 'games' (which of course is justifiable since it's a Skylines Club lol), then I can't see any point in non-skylines being associate members and paying the full whack

the memebrs pack I don't exactly need haha, no offence, but if there were to be discounts as part of being a member (and some form of proof to show the shop you are a member) then that'd be the only benefit us non-skylines have

but then again I understand it's a skylines club and I'm don't own a skyline, so I didn't vote on this one

personal feeling: the club is great the way it is

nothing too heavy, nothing too complicated

I just thought by the title that that's what the idea was intending to do
