Cops hassled me last night no defects no fines ! good news is in a week I will get a letter in thwe mail saying I'm to go to the EPA :(

Thats not good I got pod ,bov ,exhaust so I got to put it back to standard, think I got a few weeks cause has to be booked in at LIdcomb.

Just wanted any tips to avoid being fined and getting emissions down,

I don't have the original exhaust so would just getting a quiter muffler and putting stock bov and air box on keep me out of trouble?

someone on here must have gone threw this shit

anyhelp appreciated

"Fun's over "Qoute from highway patrol

if you remove the pod filter and install the original panel filter/box setup the front mount will not give you any trouble. You are allowed one intake mod, ie intercooler or pod filter. What state are you in ??

this differs from state to state also. All i can advise you todo is goto an exhaust shop, get your exhaust noise tested. If its over, im sure it will have a flange in the middle somwhere, just get a smaller pipe made, like 2.5" into a quite muffler. Nothing flash, mild steel shitness.

Apart from that, remove ur bov. your on the right track. Also remove a boost controller if you have one at all.

You should pass no probs

I'm in NSW so you still think intercooler going to be alright ,

I got the bottom half of the air box just need top half ,just jap don't have an airbox in stock but if they did they said it would be $290 thats ridiculous !!

just get a proper box made up for ur pod, ( shouldnt have an open pod anyway with all that hot air) do that and ur cooler is no issues at all,

put the stock bov back on, and if the exhaust is too loud just get a little extra muffler in it somewhere, or if u like the loudness get one of those butterfly valves fron nengun..

ben...

i got like 3 changes to my intake and the RTA didn't say a word when i rego'd it, it was in the engineering cert.

As for emissions test, it aint just your noise, all your gasses are read etc, it's very tough to pass. Make sure your ECU is standard too

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
