oops ignore that ok and is the price still $150 or is it less and how much deposit do you need?

Also thats a friday isnt it?

What time will you be starting?

Edited by 7yphon

Yeah price is 150 unless we get 40 people.

Deposit is 75 and i'll get the account details out to you soon... Yes it's friday 20th January looking at starting at 7.

Topaz: yeah shouldn't be an issue.

The purpose for this track night is see how much interest there would be in running it on a ~2 monthly basis. If it ran smoothly and everyone was jumping up and down to enter then we were going to put it on the calendar as a regular event. However due to lack of seriously interested people this event is looking like being permanently cancelled. We currently have deposits from 5 people but for this event to still happen we require 20 deposits by the 3rd January 2006(extended from the 20th December2005).

I will let you know the status of the event on the cut off date and for those people who have sent in their deposits they will have them refunded.

Regards

Brett

Get behind this people - there's not enough opportunities like this in WA too often!

Unfortunately financial commitments than come from just buying a house and being round christmas time is restricting me from entering otherwise i'd be there with bells on!

5 people have deposits!!! thats all? :)

If 20 people are needed by the 20th of december; its gunna be hard getting that many is 4-5 days now.

Sorry guys, I haven't submitted my deposit, but I might pull out anyway considering the circumstances and the likelyness of this event actually happening. Too bad, it would have been good :)

People have has more than enough time to get their deposits in, I sent out the information on the 8th Dec. I have just been given the instructions to re set the cut off date to the 3rd Jan 06. That's not the right attitude, if we get to this date and there are 19 deposits and you haven't sent yours in then the event will still be cancelled. At the end of the day you WILL get your money back if the event is cancelled.

Come on guys send in your deposits "For those who think there car wont be done, use this date as a goal to get it done by as I have"

Also ask you friends even those with crappy little datsons or ask your mum or dad im sure they have thought about it a least 1nse in there lives, This is for fun after all why not try and get everyone involved...

I see your point, but I have to book a day off work and I need all the leave days I can for a holiday in June '06. I'd need to know ASAP if this day is gunna go ahead and like you said, 19 people is not good enough :(

But I have your details and will transfer the money anyway to up the numbers just in case :(

EDIT: ok mate thats done, now I really want this to go ahead. Theres 20 people for the Motorplex night already....maybe its the cost :(

just do what i did and let your boss know anyway and tell him look Im not sure if it will happen but this is the date and it might go a head. He will like that.

ok, that sounds like it will work... :(

how many is it now then? 6?

Also ask you friends even those with crappy little datsons

:D:(

I was going come up for a gander. I really hope this event gets off the ground.

Hope the above comment is an invertation not an insult :) as I have posted this on OzDat.com Western Aust Events to help boost the numbers for you.

Good Luck hopefully see you all there on the night.

    • Can't you put the pistons to TDC and then do the valve seals? Or will the drop down too far to pull them back up?
    • One thing I can tell you is, do it properly the first time. If you encounter unexpected problems just let the car sit for a week or two if you have to get some other parts or figure stuff out.  I'd have said go and use as many OEM parts as possible but since you want to change the turbo later on a custom kit is probably the better choice. Since I have no experience with RB25 just compare parts diagrams and images before buying a line kit and it should be easy to see if it has everything you need. Amayama has very good parts diagrams and part number lists, that is what I used a bunch to figure out what I might need. And don't forget to plan ahead and possibly renew other stuff that's easy to get to while you're in there doing the turbo lines. Happy wrenching
    • Update 4:   Hi all, good news. Engine is running and all the gaskets and seals seem to be working as intended. No leaks so far, even the JB Weld seems to hold. I flushed out the old coolant a few times and put in fresh coolant, not Nissan stuff, I decided to try the Ravenol Protect FL22, they claim it works for a wide variety of JDM cars and the opinions on it by some people were pretty good. And it has the nice poison green color! And man am I glad I bought a coolant system tester earlier this year, vacuum filling works wonders on this engine. I can definitely recommend this to anyone still doing it the old school way. All you need is compressed air supply. Will have to do a small test drive as soon as I can, I removed the gauge cluster again as the tacho needle was still bouncing around a bit but it was much better than before already.  I also found some cracks on all 4 tires inner and outer sidewalls. Apparently these tires should 't be parked on for extended periods or be kept under 0 degrees during storage, which I did not know. Clearly the previous owner didn't look into those details either, he probably bought them just cause they are cool semi-slicks. I'm just wondering how tf I am supposed to reach 30-80 degree tire temperatures on the public road consistenly, these tires were never going to work for my use case. I'll probably order Continental SportContact7 ones as these are the best allround summer tire available right now and I don't think I'll need anything crazier for now. Do let me know if you have experience with various tires and which ones you recommend.
    • You have no idea how many goddamn boxes I received these past three months haha Most have been put to use by now though, luckily
    • Not going to pretend I didn't do a bit of junky work this time around, but mostly due to the fact that some things I am not willing to spend days fixing right now, like wiring. I try to do most things properly the first time around.
