Has anyone encounter this before?

The remote central locking system can lock the car while the turbo timer is counting down meaning ( engine still running)

I need to manual lock the car while turbo timer is counting down which is a pain in the ***!!!

Does anyone know how to solve the problem without having to reinstall a new alarm system? Can the wire be rewired somehow??

Called up a few auto technicans... They are saying that it is not a easy job and will cost something like 200 dollar to rewire the system...

Is that true???

I am living in Queensland, brisbane

Hope someone can help me or recommend me someone to do the job in queensland

Thanks

I don't understand the problem?

You can lock the doors with the remote but you have to lock the drivers door with the key??

By the sound of it your turbo timer has an immobiliser bypass while in the cooling down stage. This is a prefered option.

Hi markOhR33,

it is a fairly straight forward fix, just take it to Chris Rogers and get him to do it.

He knows his stuff.

Having your alarm working is worth the money, after all, it might be the only thing preventing someone stealing your precious ride.

OO_The4door_OO - FYI - this would not be the prefered option and would mean that your car would be very easy to steal, all I would need to do is find the turbo timer, trigger it and bang, there is your ignition, roll start it, the car is gone, you lost your ride.

It is possible to have muliple point immobilisation and a turbo timer and not have your car easy to steal. There is just a lot more wiring and people within the industry tend not to release this type of information. But i will assure you it can be done.

Actually frx026, if you have ever done the PIC programming for alarm/immobiliser modules, you'd know what goes on inside.

The simple function of the module is that one can lock the car and walk away while the motor is in the cool down stage. During this stage the alarm is armed. The purpose of that is so you don't have to stand around and wait for the turbo timer to run out, then you lock the car.

Now if some one came along how do they get into your car to "find the turbo timer, trigger it and bang, there is your ignition, roll start it, the car is gone, you lost your ride." if the car is LOCKED and if they actualy manage to open any doors the engine immediatly stops and the immobiliser points kick in???

Trust me markOhR33 manufacturers do this on purpose and why would they keep doing it if it was so easy to steal the car?

I've been installing alarms for years and now program my own alarm systems. My R33 has no more key to get in or start the car, every thing is done by the rolling code remote - remote engine start; unlocking the doors etc. There is no more ignition barrel but a keypad for me to put in a 8 digit code to access car functions and if any unauthourised access to the car happens there is a GSM remote module which calls my mobile to let me know the alarm has gone off. To add to that simple GSM tracking software lets me call the car to find it's location any where in the world down to a 5m radius.

Did that alarm in my spare time.

PJ,

did this one a while back. car has been sold since. same idea that I do with all of them.

justin,

would be interested to see who you work for. (fire me a pm.)

    • He obviously had his reason for flipping you off. I wonder what it was...
    • Thats why I stay far, far away from Eastwood. only go there if I wanna eat Korean food
    • I have to agree like, yesterday, I was driving down the warringah freeway towards the bridge when this jackass driving a beaten up Honda civic cut me off so suddenly it made me almost yank the wheel to avoid him hitting my car. Honestly and he had the NERVE to flip me off (or some other gesture Idk). Im a calm guy, but really some people just dont deserve to have a license, let alone be allowed to drive on densely populated roads/highways. If youre gonna cut through lanes at least use the damn turn signal
    • HPA do an interesting video on tuning, and Adrian shows on the dyno, moving from 10:1 to 12:1 (And I think even 13:1) and the power moves SFA. However, a couple of degrees of timing has a HUGE impact. Exhaust side of things will more be the length of the exhaust and how many bends and turns you have. The straighter you can keep it, the better. By a lot. Oh, and getting the diameter right. Bigger isn't always better. Going to big can actually lose you power.
    • I have to say, most people I see on the road fit the bill of atrocious drivers. Whether they be cowboys in their dual cabs, bogans in the Commodores, or the soccer mums. Pretty much most people on the road put zero freaking thought into driving. Barely look further up the road then the end of their bonnet, and have never even thought about how catastrophically wrong shit can go, by doing what they all deem as normal driving. Especially their late braking, racing to stopped lights, and sitting half a foot off the bumper of the car in front at 110km/h. Wanna know what's even better? By the time their kids get to be old enough to learn to drive, they've already got in the back of their brain what is normal driving, how annoyed you're allowed to get at people etc, and then their parents who actually have zero freaking skill at driving (Even though they constantly say "I've been driving for 20 years and never had an accident!") teach the little twerps how to drive, or should I say, how to make a car move. Literally watched a parent teach their L Plater, on a 4 lane freeway, that you just slam the brakes on, and push your way over, even with a B Double bearing down on you, and that's how you should drive, rather then, just keep going to the next exit. Same shit happens all the time for side streets etc, watching numpties pull dumb shit turns pushing across 3 lanes of traffic, rather than just go up the road another 30 seconds, and take the next turn that'll get you to the same location... Oh, and the damn right lane bandits. Or the retards driving along with their headphones in, and can't hear the ambulance or fire truck right up their ass about to run them over...   Pretty much, people drive on the road, like ego centric f**ks, and don't actually think how dumb shit their driving is, how it could easily kill them or someone else in a split second, or at the very least, how they're driving is contributing to all the shit they're bitching about on the road, like shitty congestion!
