Let us know with pics how the install goes.

I'm up for an oil cooler but don't want to spend a fortune. ;)

With the catch can. Have you opened it up and shoved stainless steel wool in it? An open empty catch can doesn't do much.

haha i actually posted a link to a thread that would help you with the install of the catch can.. looks like Ash deleted it hahaha ..

do a search, i found it so can you..

;)

oh wells. I CBF'd going to the mod section to find it either.

with 50 rubbish posts... a "bulk" delete was easiest.

apologies.

i reckon going cheap on an oil cooler is a huuugee risk, and china branded stuff isnt always top quality as u might know, and imagine poping an end tank off the oil cooler or blowing a line off, and your engine = f*kt

id rather no oil cooler than one that could be made by some dodgy chinaman who earns 2c a week, somehow i dont think they give 2 shits about quality control :D

each to their own, and no i havent seen them fail personally but ive been warned by plenty of people to stay well away from china oil cooler setups.

cheers

there is alot of hear say, mainly from people who sell main stream expensive aussie made stuff!! but hell i tell you what, australian workers dont care much for quality control either!

but yeh back to my point plazmaman racing dood who cruises around in wetherill park was trying to sell a friend a 700hp kit for his car for 1700!! while warning him off cheap front mounts frm just jap because they melt! FTW my fmic is gonna melt!, btw looking at the oil cooler it's very well made check on out yourself they usually sell for $350 but give cheaper to sau members

:)

hahaha fair enough, i took your normal position and said search lol ... i know its there but i aint gonna spend the time to find it again unless i get really bored haha

This just goes to show why you shouldnt repeat things you know nothing about. Do you know that the hybrid style coolers ie those from Just Jap and other companies have been running for years on cars with more than 400kw at the wheels? and guess what, they didnt melt!

If, and I say if there is any truth to your claims about what Plazmaman has been saying, their comments are completely unfounded and are nothing by trash talk to up their own sales

I think I would be more sh*t scared it was the T-1000........

THE TERMINATOR!

It happened to me just the other day, i stopped at lights, saw steaming from the front of the car, and my intercooler was dripping its molten alloy onto the highway and seconds later I had a cop dressed in black at my window asking me where he could find John Connor.

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
