  1. Yeah projector lense with what appears to be xenon bulb and normal halogen high beam. Of the high beams only the passengers side works... that is the only one of the four that does!
  2. Looks like the bulbs are farked and they are xenons. I have one passengers side high beam, that's it! The car has done so little kms over the years it has basically been undermaintained in some aspects as the owner didn't bother changing globes since he didn't drive at night! I looked at the globe and they must be xenons, they have what appears to be a little chamber in the globe. Xenons are charged gas right? I assume the chamber is for the gas then? (I may be way off )...
  3. Cheers for the reply Mark. I guess they do then, I assumed they would have something but you never know! Car is very nice. Been looking for a R32 for a while and decided to fork out the extra dough for an R33 after looking at too many unloved '32s. I wanted a V-Spec in particular and got a S3! Car is the silver, I think it is called Sonic? (According to another S3 being sold here). I'll post pics up when I get an opportunity to take some on the weekend.
  4. Will do, thanks for your help ferni. Only picked it up yesterday so I need to find the time to investigate. Cheers.
  5. I hope you aren't talking about me. EDIT: I had plenty of cash - as shown by my current car costing substantially more than yours - and was prepared to pay what you were asking. I ended up offering less than what you were asking as that was what I was prepared to pay, I justified that with something specific about your car.
  6. Particularly if it is expected this Super-Skyline will pass emissions.
  7. Have searched but I could not find. Can anyone confirm if they have a factory immobiliser or not?
  8. Cool thanks for the reply. My car was complied in 1999 so I am yet to find out if it has teh factory Xenons or they were converted to Halogens. Since my car has zero lights at the front (aside from indicators) I am yet to find out, I think it is a fuse or perhaps a connection under the dahs? I'll have to find out....
  9. Thread from the dead... Did you find out where?
  10. Good luck mate! It's a nice car for sure. Only picked my new one up today. $33k is a darn good price if you are after a modded one!
  11. Good point, if DOTARS continue allowing imports!
  12. Good stuff! It's good to hear that people driving imported performance cars have such a choice now, they really are more clued up to insurance these days. The market is commpetitive enough for the premiums to be reasonable.
  13. It appears to be a case of be very patient or sell for less. But don't be too patient, the demand - therefore price - may come down further...
  14. Sounds like it's actually 308hp, around 230kw.
  15. It's got my vote. It's a ground breaking car.
  16. I think the front end looks 'too busy' and not really cohesive enough - particularly the front end, which is typical of HSV unless they are supposed to be 'luxury' spec models (Senator, Grange, Coupe4). At least the tail lights are different enough to their Holden counterparts. Either way I am sure it will be great to drive. Aussie cars have improved so much over the last 10 years. In Motor the VE SSV ran a 13.4 or something! Which is very quick for a stock, heavy car.
  17. Get a quote from Just Car Insurance and call Shannons to compare.
  18. Yeah not real good... Maybe pick up the phone?
  19. Thanks heaps. A great service you are providing, for free! Very rare. Thanks again.

    Topgear: 2007 Gt-r

I like the way that article read, lived up to the emotion the GTR badge brings. I am liking the design of the new one too, just wishing the would stay with the straight-six which has been a part of the GTR legend since the beginning - (EDIT) but there is as more money at sake (less development dollars for the existing V6) than there is necessarily passion for the big wigs calling the shots. Regardless it'll be awesome no doubt.
  21. I hope they sell enough of them if they do bring them to Australia, this time around...
  22. One major point, the STi is lighter.
  23. Much appreciated.
  24. The Mazda 3 MPS is made to make money in the competitive hot hatch market sector. And for what it is, I like it. No point comparing it to past cars or other cars in different markets in that price range because it is irrelevant in a money making sense. Mazda have a great product to take to the Golf GTi, HSV VXR and Ford XR5T (etc) and is my pick of those. On the other hand, if I had $40k to spend on a car, I wouldn't buy a Mazda3 MPS. I honestly don't know what I would buy having just sold a second hand car for that much. Maybe an EVO? Maybe a modified GTR? Maybe (another) Monaro? Maybe a Typhoon? But probably a S8 Spirit R, RZ or S6 SP (1st choice) RX7 though.
  25. Is this software no longer available?
