  1. Also spotted a flat sort of Calsonic blue R32 GTR with the plates that represent the engine under the bonnet this morning on Constitution Ave. Have seen it other mornings too.
  2. Nothing wrong with opening your mind a little... If you don't want to, don't look at the thread.
  3. Looks awesome, tasteful as. Love the rims.
  4. Have to agree with that. You surprise your usual customer base with something too far off what they were expecting (which is usually a trendy evolution) then you end up with an AU situation.
  5. Spotted a gun grey R32 with Volks and clear indicator lamps on Canberra Avenue. Had cool number plates too, same as I wanted! And I thought I was original.
  6. This has always been the case I would think. Car styling, like most things, follow trends.
  7. Isn't there 'A-LSD' (or something) in the tacho? I can't see one from here.
  8. The Corvette Z06 with the lS7 7L makes 500hp stock and revs to 7k. Fastest poduction car around Nurburgring for a while this year. Only US$65k (IIRC). Makes 500rwhp with bolt ons. Runs 11.6 stock. Would run a 10 with bolt ons. And on street tyres. Awesome, awesome car.
  9. I think traction may have been a problem.
  10. I'll bet it's surprisingly good on fuel too. Narrow minded prejudice about V8s is pathetic, and the arguements are outdated and wrong. They are cheap as to mod, intake, exhaust and tune and you are looking at 250+rwkW. Do a cam change and you are looking at 300+rwkW. Turbo for $7k + fitment and you are looking at 400+rwkW. They run low 12s on 18" street tyres with bolt ons and 250rwkW. They are cheap and extremely reliable. The VZ Clubby is capable of 1.10s around Wakefield with soft tyres. Also it can tow, it can carry 5 adults comfortably, both at once if required. What can do all that for the money?
  11. Cause the cam is deep in the engine? Also because a cam change can mean a gain of up to 100kW.
  12. A 225kW Gen III are usually good for ~190rwkW. Easy to get them to 250+rwkW with intake exhaust and tune, a low 12 second car on street tyres in the hands of a good driver. Saying that they are heavy so driving them fast and also in gear acceleration isn't all that flash. My experience from previously owning a 257rwkW Monaro.
  13. The LS1 boys definitely consider a cam change to be 'opened'. Some of them have valve springs done but that is it, even then it is unopened aside form valve springs. Cams put you in a different class altogether.
  14. That's what the dud bulb I have is. Definitely xenon as it is a Panasonic D2S-35W. Philips ones are about US$75 replacement, the only thing annoying about that is shipping time.
  15. It's making a definite 'clicking' noise from somewhere when the lights are 'on', didn't sound too flash. Thanks for the advice, I'll do a search on the combo switch.
  16. Turn the plastic caps HARD and they will pop off. Scrape the fark out of your hand as you get the bulb out. Scrape the fark out of your hard as you replace them, refit caps and it's all done. My lights still aren't working, haven't replaced the xenon bulbs since I couldn't find any to buy. Drivers side lights do not work at all. I think I my have to pay an auto elect, fuse, bulbs etc. are all OK. Everything appears to be fine... it's got me buggered. So annoying as it is the only thing I have to do before I take it over rego! Currently has no plates on it because it was brought up from Victoria. I'm hanging to drive it!
  17. Here's my newly purchased S3 V-Spec. Desperately needs a wash after the rain wash after all the rain we had in Canberra. I am loving it so far, it's like brand new. Just having some annoying problems with the headlights before I can go over rego and get some plates on it.
  18. I like it. Is different sure, but that is the way cars are heading with styling these days.
  19. Ouch! He may like it! If it had to be a cheap convertible an MX5 with a turbo converion would be my pick. But convertibles are not my thing.
  20. The Mazda Familia GTR has 206kW too, although it may be difficult to source one of those engines.
  21. Certainly sounds the goods. But for me personally the cost is prohibitive. Even simply the $1250 installation is too much to spend on that right now as I have other things I want to do with my cash.
  22. Too expensive, and if it's taken and flogged I don't think I'd want it back...
  23. I assume the process is the same for the R33?
  24. I think it's the BP turbo that Mazda have? One of those should basically drop in. Would give 135kW but easy to tune for a bit more.
  25. Doesn't have one then. I've only got the original GTR keys, nothing aftermarket. I'll have to look at getting an immobiliser then.
