Nice points there gary. I agree 100% with what you said. Install is everything. IMO, the rubber on the later pumps is a waste of time and money. when I install the pumps, I just pop the rubber out. last install was done on a car with very very limited space. the rubber doesn't make any difference if it's clamped on properly. I find the rubber makes it more likely to buzz on the tank if it's mounted at the side (like the r33). rubber touching the tank still buzzes just lke metal touching the tank. Installing it into the r33 was actually pretty simple for us (no dramas at all)

mate, how long is a piece of string. how much money you wanna spend, power goals etc. there's no perfect answer. if you just wanna get it runnign again, a pallet motor will be the cheapest - maybe 2k from the wreckers. Everytime i'm at the wreckers, the motors seem to be in crap condition though - all dirty, been sitting outside not covered etc.

hose clamps $1.99 If it's very loud, it's rattling on something. my stock pump could be heard - gtr pump will be heard louder because it is a bigger pump, but not very loud.
-
That's exactly what I did, and that's what I said above. 2 hose clamps. spot where you've got it in your picture. They're $1.99 man How tight did you do up the hose clamps? I do them up really tight. Tomei/Nismo pump sounds exactly the same (if I could tell you me info, it would explain why too). Feel free to compare it to my car (installed properly). edited: hose clamps not cable ties

a bigger turbo will make it f**k off loud. I was running straight 3.5" pipe catback, no muff. Split 3" front/dump, metal 4" cat. Was nice loud, not too loud. now it's f**k off loud.

I generally try to keep the car as low as possible (depending on what i'm doing) and it seems to be safer. The extra jacks make it more sturdy too. With my full setup, you can give it a push from the side or whatever and it won't move.

ah ok

I thought you said you had 210 rwkw? slide highflow turbo?

Don't worry too much about it matey. Whether it's from a sI, or sII, it's not that big a deal. If you've checked the shaft play, and if it's ok, it looks fairly clean, then your guess is as good as mine as to what condition it's in. If it seems ok, then that's the best chance you have. All that I can say, is that when people are looking to buy a turbo, so many people always low ball sellers offering them crap prices for good condition turbos. e.g. heaps of r32 owners expect to pick up a mint condition 33 sII turbo, low ks etc for $300. You get what you pay for. If the owner accepts 300 for it, it's probably crap.

I have the equipment, so why not use it? Let me tell you, if i have the whole car up, 4 jacks and 4 stands hardly takes up much room at all. You're literally talking 1 jack and 1 stand per corner. Plenty of room where it counts. I have not found room to be of an issue. I would say yes, it is overkill, stupid no. If I hvae the equipment, why not use it to make it safer (provided it doesn't get in the way - which it doesn't).

Haha, the good old bush mechanic style It's pretty amazing though. I can't say i've personally tested the strength of the charcoal can, but it seems like i'd take a fair whack, as opposed to a brush by with a hammer?

Mate, that 32 probably cost shitall anyways. A couple of doors is hardly something to fuss about. I see full doors including trim go for a couple hundred bucks for the pair. I bet your copmliance is costing you shitall compared to what compliance used to cost. When I got my r33 imported, the price all around was 5k for RAWS copmliance. Every single place in all states were charging that. for 5k, I could afford to buy a little spare parts division worht of doors.

That's absolutely GOLD!!!!! It's like oh yeah, I was giving my car a wax, and next thing you know bang bang bang, I smashed my window in and jumped on the roof
-
stingray, that looks just like the same shit as the rest of them. Metal compressor wheel - like a sI r33 turbo.

Seriously guys, people are always going blah blah about the bigger exhaust housing. It's a tiny bit bigger. I've had both, and it's not really somethign to go crazy about.

Check Out What Just Arrived In My Factory!
MANWHORE replied to Bass Junky's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'm just a bit worried that if you get excited, you might get something else stuck in there apart from your finger That thing is pretty massive hey. haha, so you sell them and figured hey, I better fire it up and give it a go so I know what i'm selling -
But heavy weigiht is not hectic. the 34 is already heavy enough. S13 is hectic drift spec

i lost my spare bolt to measure the thread size. The head is 17mm (not that it's really helpful for you.

How about instead of asking whether it's because your pump is mounted higher, how about if you fill it up properly. like fill it up full. Bear in mind, if your pump is located higher, it's not just where the pump is. the stock pump has a pickup that goes down quite low into the tank.

fyi mzturbo, it is not set at 7 psi. well, not on the stock turbo anyways. With just my stock turbo, I connectected the stock solenoid system up. Because I had exhaust and cooler, I was getting 9psi. with just the actuator, I was getting 5 psi. The solenoid is a bleeder. The actuator is 5 psi, it bleeds a little air above 4500 rpm, so it gets a few more psi. not the other way round.

Can't Get Good Pedal In Clutch
MANWHORE replied to Ronin 09's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Also, before we go ahead, it was working before you bleed it right? Unless if you've royally busted it when doing the bleed, it shoudl work. ok, i found something similar when I did a couple clutches last chrissy holidays. I'm guessing that you've got air in your system. Try this please. put your hand down, and pull your pedal up to the top. press it down again. Then pull it up to the top. do it a couple times, and tell me if it eventually goes back to normal. -
spot on the money birnie. Since he won't have the 2 stage solenoid, with just an r33 actuator, it runs about 4.5 psi. since he's got a few mods like ic, exhaust etc, it'll run a bit more - that's the 5.5 psi. pop the 32 actuator in and i won't be suprised with your extra mods if you get 11-12 psi. she'll rip really hard.

mate, those exhaust thingies are shit. I have both an insertable bung that can go in the end. heavily robs power, and makes revs climb very slowly. I also have an exhaust control valve - same as the bung. makes it a lot less powerful. revs climb about 1/4 the speed it used to. and the worst is, it's nto that much quieter.
