  1. hey kez, did you paint it yourself? looks great
  2. Hey Kez Tein actually sell 32,33,34 gtr kits. They just don't sell the ones for gtst. The tein kits are 200 delivered via nengun. they would work on our cars, but it'd need to be gassed stronger. Tthe gtr ones are the exact design of the one on the wrx, so it would work. you just need to make sure that the spacer on the end of the strut is the right length Top secret actually sell r33 gtst ones. Theyr'e $400 though. f**k that. that guardbolt hole is strong, because it's got a nut welded on the other side. Also, the bonnet bracket is strong. we'd just need to make a little bracket to go to the side of the bonet bracket with a little ball on it. It'd need to come forward a bit on the bracket, because the bracket has that edge on it - you know what i mean.
  3. $10 bucks to spectate? I was gonna come watch, oh well.
  4. I definitely am not looking at drilling holes. Drilling a hole is: 1. messy. 2. not strong - the metal is thin, and it will be hard to reinforce it. 3. there isn't enough space. That's the reason I posted up the pics to show how the bolt in kit works. All it needs is a tiny bit of fab for making a bracket and that's it!
  5. Are you still using the cam belt cover? If not, did you know that you have to space the cas out?
  6. Ah.... what makes you think that? Engine life has been discussed, and it's never a simple formula. You could have bad luck happen like snap the cam belt, and the engine is gone. Or if you're sitting up at the limiter all day doing burnouts/drifting, it won't last as long as a modded engine that's driven easily. As I always believe, buy a good car, look after the engine, treat it well, and it'll look after you. By treating it well, i don't mean drive like a granny. I mean service it with good oil, and frequently. Have it tuned well. Drive hard, but don't sit at the limiter. I fang my car hard, but i take these above factors into account.
  7. Nah, the turbo is more than up to the task. Those ones fang mate. It's just that your injectors/stock afm could be maxing out. Since the turbo flows so much more than stock, 12-13 psi on that turbo could be as much as 15-16 psi on the stock turbo. so it should make 210-220 at that boost. Edit: as slide said above
  8. Hey cubes, how do you use rope to lower and raise the diff? I can't seem to picture it. I have a few trolley jacks of varying sizes, and we normally just grab the tiniest one, because it's the lightest and easiest to move for raising and lowering stuff.
  9. Being centred makes no difference at all. It is the total increase in preload. Doing both sides just wastes more time.
  10. Hi Highcrawler. Nylon is a type of plastic, and it would burn if the exhaust wheel was made of nylon. Ben's turbo there has a ceramic exhaust wheel, and a steel front wheel - that's what he's saying isn't nylon
  11. Most likely your coil packs. Since the car is old, it is highly likely. Nothing lasts forever. Spitfires are pretty cheap anyway. Back when i bought my car, replacing coilpacks was dreaded because they'd end up costing you 2k
  12. In answer to your question, the limit will be the stock afm and injectors. Probably around 210-220 rwkw. 1 bar on that turbo will be a bit much i think. Maybe around 12-13psi will be more like it.
  13. 100 ks is not a lot. A lot of the cars here are are fanging really hard with over 150 000 or even 200 ks. At the end of the day, replacing the engine with another one from the wreckers will only cost as much as you spent on the pfc + tune (not a lot).
  14. Also, r33 is far too heavy is it? what about the 34 gtt which weighs 50kg more than the 33 gtst, and same for the 34 gtr? People are always mentioning the weight of the 33, when the 34 weighs even more, and the v35 weighs even more again!
  15. Oh ok, so it's just like the only people who like the 32s are the ones who own them? I've seriously got no problems with any skyline - the 32 owners seem to keep jumping out at us, that's why I do it back. In all honestly, all skylines can chirp second and that's all that matters. The End.
  16. clean afm with crc contact cleaner. Then clean the plug too, and make sure you plug it in propelry - you mgith not have pushed it on fully.
  17. Don't worry about it. It could be the turbo how you're running 15 psi on it Small puff = no worry. When the puff turns into a cloud of white smoke behind you when you're driving, then worry
  18. If you wanna sell the arc sidemount, i'll buy it. I missed the last one - went for 150. spewin. pm me
  19. 040 - when you said it's been replaced 3 times - just making sure all bases are covered, but was it replaced with a new one?
  20. My daily driver's getting excited. It's going to be getting an oil change finally since my skyline is getting an oil change. The daily's getting the used oil. hahaha. If it's lucky, I might do the filter too.
  21. Hey mad082 and gtr chick, have a look at my thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=163558 I've been to the wreckers with measurements on paper, and ideas in my head, but it's pretty hard to find one that fits. Haha, pick and payless scored my $2 entry fee, and I came out with nothing
  22. That's not bad actually. that's $24-36 ($2-3 each) worth of studs. Then a $20 callout fee. So he charged about $50 to remove each stud. Thumbs up. Did he use easyouts? or did he weld onto it? From you watching, did it seem like the broken bits of stud were wedged in tight (easyout almost snapping) or were they quite loose?
  23. There were two different styles of charcoal cans if that makes sense. One has the knob on it, one doesn't.
