IS this the slide turbo that you've been waiting for?
-
You know what i'm going to do today? I miss my car so much I'm just oging to drive to it, sit in it, and listen to the radio and pretend to shift gears. Happy easster matey.
-
Also, if you call, he never calls back, or sms he never sms's back. Good to know that there's someone else waiting still too. I thought I was the only one spending easter turboless and carless.
-
Not hindering your sale - just protecting sau members, but that's a 32 turbo.

I agree with 3lit3_32 He's not saing that regappign is no good etc. He's just saying, if you hvae a problem with misfire, coilpacks are the best way to fix it. if you can't afford it, then regap. He's just saying, people shouldn't automatically just jump up a heat range and regap for the sake of it, without any mods, or with just an air fitler or something. Everything said in your first post is correct mate. I don't know how many times i've seen people say that skylines have come with all sorts of different stuff stock.

Everyone has their own preferences. I was using motul 8100. Worked wonders. My engine is spotless inside. Underneath the cam covers, everything is as clean as the day it was built. I've just gone to elf excellium fully synth. that's supposed to be good as well. The motul used to cost me $52 for 5L. The elf is 45, so i'm just trying it.

Do I Need To Change Manifold Gasket?
MANWHORE replied to R33GOD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'll just add to ben's post. If you're going to change the bearings, change the bolts to new high tensiles too. Not expensive in the scheme of things. -
A tsunami in sydney would be pretty crazy if it did happen. Remember end of last year, how it hailed crazily in the city. The whole floor was white. Well, luckily our cars would be alright. Can't say the same for the ugly poos. They'll sink to the bottom of the ocean where they belong

Do I Need To Change Manifold Gasket?

Check the bearings. If they're fine, you don't HAVE to. gates belts are known for being noisy. Never used one. I dont' see a prboelmw ith the nissan one, so I won't change. they're cheap anyway -
It's the fact that the manifold holes are packed with rust, and also because the manifold warps. Good thing getting it machined. I'd just machine the holes a little bit with either a die grinder, just until it can get on comfortably. There's no harm in doing this, because that's how it's supposed to be, and secondly, there are big arse washers on top anyway. Just do it a tiny bit on the ones that are fouling

Modifying The Standard Wastegate
MANWHORE replied to ovabooster's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It's not the actuator causing the boost to drop off. It's the fact that the turbo simply runs out of puff (in layman's terms). If your turbo can still push more, an ebc will solve it. -
Do I Need To Change Manifold Gasket?
MANWHORE replied to R33GOD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Depends on how mint is mint. Nissan ones are about $40. If you believe it's in good enough condition to last until you remove your turo again (maybe never), then reuse it. Having said that, coolant alone is worth $40. So not even including your labour, if it blows, you're wasting at least $40 anyways. Plus labour, oil, washers, etc etc. -
3 weeks would be alright. Anyone know a cheap towtruck? Everyone i've called wants $150. They're charging time for the truck to come out to me, and back to the base again. That's reasonable I suppose.

Tyres Decision "help
MANWHORE replied to spikey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Whoa, really? Yeah, jerry, I foudn the st115 and 451 to be very good (one of the better street tyres and not expensive either). If anything, I found the 451 to be a little bit better. Did you find that too? So the new 452 is no good is it? it's not like the 451? because the ziex 3xx are like death traps. May as well be driving slicks in the wet. Cheers Chris -
I can't be bothered posting, because I know my post will just get deleted or the thread closed. All that I can say is, I wish that sau would have a balance of positive and negative feedbeack so that we can get both sides of the story before we buy. Just like how 2 days ago, the same thread was deleted, when not a single negative comment was said. Just people who are waiting said they are. It doesn't matter. Even though r33 god got his today, it's not 1 day late. It's 2 months 2 weeks late. Everyone (r33 god included) was offered a 2-3 week turn around time. I paid for mine Months ago. I notified slide that it had to be ready before the xmas holidays finished (project needed to be finished before uni started. Deadline was missed. Told him that it needed to be here before my rego expired. Deadline missed. All that I can say, is i'm still waiting.

I dunno, that doesnt' float my boat. Looks pretty messy. Normally when people say angel eyes, they mean angel eyes around a projector, not inside a reflector.

Cunching Syncros At High Rpm
MANWHORE replied to NYTSKY's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
My theory is that the r33 box and gearset is very strong. Like everything else though (and the way the skylines get driven), the synchros wear out. about 1/2 skylines has worn synchros it would seem. Maybe the synchros are a bit soft. I think driving plays a big part in how quickly they wear too. -
Tyres Decision "help
MANWHORE replied to spikey's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Falken fk 451 are really really good tyres. You'll be suprised, because they're cheap for how grippy they are (bad english, i'm tired). I've personally used the 451 and they are the best tyre you can buy without spending crazy amounts of money. I haven't used the 452. When my tyres need to be changed, I will try them. I'm sure they'll be ok, because they are falken's more upper range tyre. Whatever you do, do not buy the falken ziex tyres - they're like driving on ice. The cheapest tyres that you can buy that are decent are the nangkang nsII ultrasport. They're ok in the wet - not as grippy as the falken fk451 though. -
Boost Dilemma.. Controllers Won't Work
MANWHORE replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My money is on a guess that you've plumbed it up incorrectly. Did you tap it into a pressure source? i.e. the nipple on the intercooler piping? or did you tap it onto the piping before the turbo? If both bc's didn't work, it means it was plumbed wrongly. -
well, the thing is, 2-3 degrees might very well not be. If for some reason, you have a high compression motor (e.g. an N/A) motor, it will probably ping. Or if you have bad fuel etc etc. It's just really hard to listen for ping while you're driving the thing. On the dyno, they can listen out for it, while standing next to the car with the bonnet open - can't do that while driving If you run something like shell v power racing, you can probably knock a fair bit of timing in. It'll have more power, more torque, quicker spool, better response. People normally increase it till it pings slightly, then back it off a little. I forgot where, but htere was a place that had dynos for $80 an hour.

Where To Get R33 Gt-r Gearbox Asap
MANWHORE replied to sav man's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What state are you in? any big jap wrecker should be able to help you. In sydney, people like justjap, etc will probably have a few in stock. Nisswreck in adelaide probably have some, etc etc. Hit up a WTB topic. Gtr gearboxes are pretty common
