Hello helpful people of SAU, Does anyone know the correct torque for the lug nuts on the M35? The wheels on it are aftermarket 18”, not sure if that makes any difference? Sorry for the noob question just about to set out on a long road trip in the stag and after losing a wheel on the last road trip I wanna be sure everything is perfect this time (provided no one tries to steal the wheels this time around haha). Any help/pre road trip tips would be greatly appreciated,

I've had this issue for a while but it comes and goes and is progressively getting worse. I keep getting the A/T Transmission Check Light (AT Check). It used to come on periodically, usually during "spirited driving" in tiptronic mode however for the past 2 or 3 days it comes on as soon as I put it into drive and stays there for the entire drive. Transmission dipstick says it's full of fluid (although It's probably been a while since it was replaced), Just did an oil change so that's full. Any thoughts? I also occasionally get a clunk sound between gears after driving for a long time and usually between 3 and 4 or if that helps? On a side note, this is also similar to the airbag light that used to periodically come on and could be removed with the key to reds then off method and then it would dissapear for months but now it comes on straight away afterwards. Could this be related? /anything I can do about that. Any help would be greatly appreciated There are hundreds of little electrical gremlins in my stagea (2004 M35 250tRS4 btw) haha.

Very good point. Other than there legality I would question whether it would actually do anything, but would be interesting to find out? I've seen similar braces in C34's (behind the rear seats?) but don't recall ever seeing anything similar in the M35. Do those style braces actually effect much in either model?

Hi all, This has been an ongoing issue that I've just ignored but thought I should get to the bottom of it. My passenger side headlight randomly cuts out and then comes back on after flicking the lights off and on again. 99% of the time it is just the passenger side lamp however after a long drive on the highway one night I actually lost both. From some quick googling it says this can often happen with a bad ground, if so how would I find the headights ground (sorry for the noob question, I'm clearly far from an electronics genius haha)? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone know what the wooden gas strut assisted floor boards in the boot are made of in the M35? Is it chip board or something a bit tougher? I managed to spill a 5L bottle of engine oil all though the back of my car (I don’t understand why they can’t just use a decent lid on those things!) and I’m trying to get it all out and not sure whether I can blast it with a pressure hose and detergent (or any water for that matter) or if I need to try and keep it as dry as possible? Also any suggestions for cleaning it out without doing much damage would be GREATLY appreciated (I am currently testing the “kitty litter method” which appears to be doing fairly well) Thanks!

Hi Guys, Does anyone happen to know the stock wheel stud dimensions/sizing/etc for an 2003 M35? Is it shared with a V35 or anything else? I'm dealing with a typical no hoper mechanic who is too lazy to just check the bloody thing for himself and don't really want to leave it up to him to work it out or I might be waiting weeks. Any help would be amazing!

Fun story. I took the stagea down the south coast of NSW for some shows (I play in a band) had a great weekend and at the end decided we'd drive home (sydney) in the middle of the night rather than sleep in the car.... long story short: turns out throughout the course of the weekend someone tried to steal my wheels but failed and left the bolts loose so driving down the hwy at 100kmh (luckily not more) my passenger side rear wheels comes off, slamming to the ground and sliding to a halt and only just managing to get it off the highway. Luckily managed to get away with only damaged wheels and two snapped wheel studs, could've been worse. Moral of the story (tl;dr). Never trust anyone. Also if anyone has any suggestions of things I should get checked over once I get it back from the mechanic that would be great? As far as I can tell I got lucky and none of the body work or exhaust or anything hit the ground as the rotor fell into the wheel rim and the weight in the back (a lot) kept it within the wheel arch so brakes are my main concern I guess?

My problem ended up being the immobiliser. It was wired badly to the fuel pump and would just trip up from time to time and cause it to stall. Although not a hugely common problem I do believe it has happened to a few people on here so it could be worth checking it out.
