  1. good post hazerb30 Prevention is the key. New parts like fuel pumps and AFR readouts can prevent these nasty failings that lead to a rebuild in the first place due to owners neglecting to upkeep the car in great condition. Look after her and she'll look after you haha
  2. They have garrett stamped on them, but then again, i think stockers do too When you turn the car off you might be able to hear the turbos spooling down for the next 5 seconds or so thanks to ball bearing technology. The plain bearing stocker turbos wont produce this sound
  3. he said NOT to use a 2 way at the front Front wheels like to turn at different speeds, obviously because they have different turning circles compared to one another 2 ways like to turn the wheels at the same speed, therefore the inside wheel has to turn faster than it wants to and will skip and make it very hard and dangerous to turn.
  4. anyone building the engine with an ounce of thought would surely replace the rod bolts during the build so i guess that part will be covered.
  5. I dont believe that the car has GT-SS turbos and HASNT been boosted Whos trying to pedal such a lie? Also, it doesnt matter whether the car has been boosted or not within reason. The motor is more than up to the task. So long as the check at the workshop goes ok, then buy it if its what you really want
  6. Dont be afraid to do some research yourself.
  7. What about the sump pick-up issues when driven on R compunds around a track? For 400-500 HP, there arent really any more issues. Yes, if youre thinking ceramic turbos but i know youre a smart cookie and wouldnt do that For longevity, make sure you have good oil and at a good temperature before you give it stick....look after those bearings!
  8. wow thanks for the detailed reply! appreciate it mate
  9. save your money on the cams if you want 250rwkw Stock ones are good enough
  10. are you referring to the spring inside the AAC? If its another one, which one and have you got a pic?
  11. i wanted to say nice work with the gauges! Are the GTR cluster gauges electrical or mechanical? Are they the smoke faced gauges that Autogauge do, 52 or 60mm? Did they pretty much bolt-in replace the old ones? What wire did you tap into to get power to the gauges? Sorry about all the questions, its just something im interested in doing to replace the old boring ones in there atm cheers
  12. your old old ones or the dba rotors you got last year?
  13. so keefy, tell us what you had put on? Im interested to hear your setup
  14. Try a powerFC in there and see what happens. See if you can tune it out. Also with your idle, a little fluctuation isnt too bad. At least its below 1000rpm. Hundreds of other GTR owners here would kill to have an idle below 1000rpm. Mine sits between 1800 and 2200 lol The stock ECUs are known to provide cold running problems and as soon as the temperature reaches normal, then the car runs beautifully. Theres been many threads of late of hesitancy when cold with the OEM ecu. My car killed a CAS but that was due to not having the timing belt cover on but in your case this isnt an issue.
  15. i think i got my MetalCat from a group buy for around $300 delivered
  16. SLIPPERY

    My Gtr

    Mongas GTR has that also
  17. just be prepared to wait for nearly 2 months for your parts to arrive from nengun atm they seem to be getting worse!
  18. hey nathan are you referring to the holes on whitfords ave? They were there last week but have now been filled in
  19. wanna sell?
  20. When i was looking at GTRs last year i came across this beauty Someone on the forum ended up buying it and then sold it someone else and im not sure if they frequent this site. Best bet is to track the old owner down
  21. nothing, its fine Youll notice in time that a lot of other cars do that
  22. awww no fair, wish mine was that easy. the idle shot up another 300rpm after i put some cylinder cleaner through it. Perhaps carbon deposits blocked the leak a little Its easy to engage the twin plate with the higher idle..thats about the only upside i see lol Oh well, its getting fixed next week
  23. im stuck with a 2k idle on my GTR. Nothing seems to change it so im assuming its a manifold leak
  24. Please talk properly like your mum raised you to.
