    No, VASS isn't required. I've done it coz I have a half cage. Just take everything out and register as 2 seater as Martin said. Easy... Only catch is if you wanna put it back to 4/5 seater then you need engineers cert even though you're only bolting factory stuff back in. Stupid but true.
