  1. Just wait the couple of months until your link arrives then use that. Don't kill the engine before it arrives!
  2. Take of cam cover. There are flats for a shifter to hold cam and stop it from turning. At the front of the cam
  3. sounds weird. I would be concerned that the tuner tried adding heaps of timing to counteract the dip, rather than find the root cause. In your first post you mentioned functioning z32. What do you mean by that? Had it been tuned in another car and behaved normally? Any fault codes present on ecu?
  4. That's odd. It's also weird you thrash a cold engine to max boost. I wouldn't know how much boost my car makes when it's cold, because I don't want to kill it.
  5. Shouldn't the tuner have more idea than us with stuff all info about your car?
  6. 200 is a bargain for that job! 6hrs labour... Was that mates rates?
  7. As mentioned, 8 gauge isn't hard at all to use. I can't remember exactly but pretty sure the wiring should be capable of double the intended load. Not to mention reese had burnt out 10a wire numerous times, how can you say it is ok?
  8. http://homepages.vodafone.co.nz/~lakewood/Skyline/R33_head.htm
  9. I'm sure I've read it somewhere on here that guys weld the fitting then drill it out.
  10. Thanks Disco, well written. Very good point about the cam ramp rates which are overlooked when comparing duration. The compression isnt drastically changed running the neo head vs rb30, it is bumped up a bit which is preferable in my instance. From research it seems the RB30 heads are 50 cc and neo heads are 50-53. Worst case 50cc would bump comp on rb30e bottom end to 9.7:1 I will be selecting a gasket thickness to give preferably 9.5:1 comp, after having head welded and skimmed, then measuring chamber volume. I am not after max power, Just a really nice tourqey combo for daily use.
  11. Sorry man, should have said plugs. stupid phone. That gap is likely a problem, especially with suspect coils.
  12. What plus did you put in? And what gap?
  13. But then you can't get the injectors out on a neo. leaking between runners wouldn't matter. Another pointless option would be to get a machine shop to machine the base of the plenum for individual rubber orings. Then you will save money on gskets I would just get another manifold
  14. You are the first I have heard that has had this much trouble. New manifold would surely solve your probs. Don't weld it together, that would be mental!
  15. Yep. So in the case of throwing a head straight onto an rb30 that is a positive. nissan didn't redesign the head to make it worse. From a manufacture point of view solid lifters would be more difficult to manufacture, having to set/check clearance. So they designed it for no reason? ? Anyway i have bought a good running rb30 and will be using that. Will use my neo head. Will be doing it on a week or two. Will post updates.
  16. Well it be a track car, or live life a quarter mile at a time?
  17. Do the comp test by pumping air in with the cam out. That way all of the exhaust valves should be shut and will let you know of any bent valves. It is extremely likely the are vent valves, no point putting can back in just to find that.
  18. oem are best. They also cost the most
  19. What engine? I just sold my neo coils but have some series one coils you can tr y. I am in sa also.
  20. search and you will find that 290kw is very possible. believe it or not out has been done before
  21. I'm pretty sure his leak is between the top of the plenum and the runners. Seems really odd that it would warp there.
