  1. Today i tried setting at 4000rpm for road tuning (since i hv wideband), car felt very lively and more spirited in town driving. Felt like VTEC effect especially when downshifting or upshifting the rpm will just drop on the sweetspot. Just wondering whether VTC helps more on low or high load? Would consumption suffer at the setting im running now? Not planning on doing any dyno runs atm, until i upgrade injectors and cams.
  2. Hi Guys Im now tuning my PFC and trying to work out the Optimum VTC setting for R34GTT with a slightly laggy T04E turbo. To compensate the low rpm load before the turbo get spooling at fullboost around 4k rpm, can i set the VTC like 3500 rpm and will it do any damages if it were set that low? Still stock cams but with adjustable cam gears for exhaust side only (slightly retard settings).
  3. Thanks Paul for ur prompt feedback, u have been very helpful. Recently in Malaysia the local fuel station start offering RON95 (downgraded from RON97) which i have not tried using until i know how much timing reduction i need to bring it down. The stations still offer RON97 but just want to have an additional tuned RON95 map. What's the difference between Advanced Knock and Basic Knock?
  4. Hi Everyone I am still learning using Datalogit to tune my 34GTT Neo. What would be a good timing for the lower load range (L1 to L10) if running bigger turbo like the Garrett T04e? From what i have tried is to lower timing than the default PFC map espescially around the 1600rpm to 3200rpm, i get better response plus using higher gear to cruise. Been trying to find comparison map especially those who has already upgraded their turbos (laggier type). Using wideband for on the road tuning and my knock level is very low around 1 to 5 max. Anyone willing to share their map as a guide.
  5. It will be quite pricey if order from SydneyKid, since there will be currency conversion plus additional export taxes imposed which is around 30% more on top if freight to my country. I plan of ordering from Singapore then drive down to get it installed there immediately. Will try the part number you gave to see it's Bilstein. Any chance for which Eibach springs (height reduce by how much?) to match the Bilstein?
  6. Hi Howie I found this picture previously before but not sure is that the part number from Nismo or Bilstein. Reason being that some GTT actually was pre-fitted with this spec when bought new (optional items). Anyone can confirm this?
  7. Hi Guys I am from Malaysia, so far the local distributor hasn't been very helpful so i intend to source them else where. Looking for the Yellow coloured type, so far i know that the 34GTT is a combination of using the 33Gts Front and 34GTR Rear (read this somewhere in this forum). If there is an actual part number for it then it's so much easier to order the right one. Btw is there an Eibach springs that match the Bilstein? Appreciate everyone's help. Cheers!
  8. Im also looking forward at going for the BC Racing setup...looks like you ordered the one for GTT. Which spec did u buy V1 or BR? Hope to hear some positive feedback once you sorted the rear shock combination.
  9. Heard about the damper adjuster problems on the Teins too. My Nismo is still precise after 4 years using cos there is only 4 settings for the front which need to push & twist to change it. The rear are 8 settings with a knob on the body. I wish to keep my Nismo R-Tunes until there is a proper rebuilt place who has the spec and now I want to try out the BC Racing (aka Greddy Type) which is selling at a resonable price, plus it is monotube. There is no Greddy selling in my country and the closest place to get the BC is in Singapore. Btw is it possible to fit higher spring rates for the Tein SS since the damper settings are more for the softer springs?
  10. Just checkout Quadrant website, B14 & B16 looks like the perfect set, anyone has the part number for GTT? In Malaysia, there is no proper distributor who can provide me price or part numbers for it. Appreciate if any GTT owners has bought these sets before.
  11. Nismo & Greddy probably put more testing plus QC on their products. I get some good & bad feedback bout the Teins SS, the only good thing is they are comfortable for street driving. But they lack precision & too soft for track use, plus I heard of early rebuilt after few months of use. That's why i am sceptical on the Teins QC. Hope they do something about it. Anyone know how many times can we rebuilt coilovers before the wear&tear of shaft is beyond it's usage?
  12. Hoping to know more about the BC on Skylines although other forums espescially the Evo/Subaru seems to like them very much. So far they have the BR specs with option of rubber or steel topmount to choose. Too bad there is no external reservoir type made for the GTT other than Evo/Subaru.
  13. I really like the Nismo's but i the front pair was rebuilt once a year plus ago, now one side is making noise. And recently did the rear just a couple of months ago which i suspect that the rebuilt was not very good, as there is no feel of rebound at all (loss of compression feeling). Anyone knows how many times can the shocks be rebuilt? Been using the Nismo's for 4 years already. Regards to Greddy Type S, i believe they are the same as BC Racing BR spec series because both body & spec are the same. Hoping someone can give more input on the Greddy which is my preferred choice compare to Teins.
  14. I am also contemplating on this BC Racing (BR spec) and Tein Super Street. Hope to hear more feedback for on the track and street experienced for r34 GTT. The spring rate for the BC Racing (8/6kg) is slightly more than the Teins SS (6/4kg). However the BC is monotube against the Teins twintubes. Appreciate feedback and if there is any comparison between both models.
  15. Hi Guys Sorry for bringing up an old thread. Found an almost new Tein SS for ER34 for sale, willing to try them out after many years using Nismo R-Tunes which are terrific but can be too harsh for daily usage. Just wondering is the Teins made in Japan or are they sub-out to China to manufacture? Are there any fakes around? From my understanding the spring rates are 6/4 for the Teins, would i be able to swap the Nismo 9/9 which has higher spring rates should i find the teins too soft? Appreciate feedbacks...thanks.
  16. Still waiting for the right tyre sizes to be available such as 245/40/18 or 265/35/18 locally in Malaysia. Heard many good reviews in many forums. Still miss my Falken Rt615, anyone tested both to advice which is better?
  17. I am still using 34GTR rims on my 34GTT, tyre all round is 245/40/18 for a more neutral handling. My preference would be 235/40/18 front & 265/35/18 Rear on my previous combi.
  18. I am on my 2nd clutch replacement plates for HKS GD Max Twin Plate. Love the bite and the lighten flywheel doesn't lose power on hill climb. Only problem was the pedal height need to be readjusted correctly so that the bite is not on the very last bit when releasing. Would like to try the Ogura Twins as the next replacement with the conversion kit.
  19. The BC Racing has 2 models for the R34GTT, V1 and the BR. Go for the BR which is a newer model & design. Since Im from Malaysia, the closest dealer is in Singapore and the price i got quoted for is around USD 900. This is the closest thing to compare with the Tein Monoflex but has height adjustment without effecting the spring tension which is what i like. Happy that some one has tried & tested it on a Skyline. Will give it a go as I have enough of bumpy ride and confusing height adjustment setup.
  20. Just changed mine yesterday, in Malaysia they sell the Paraut brand only as replacement water pumps for the RB engines. It fits the RB20/25 since it has the 1 elongated hole to match both. This is my 2nd unit as the 1st one lasted more than 3 years with 100k mileage of city and frequent weekend blast. Hope the link will give you guys an alternative unit to buy. Btw Im driving a modded R34GTT http://www.tanzawa.or.jp/~paraut/page02/page021.html
  21. Sorry for bringing up an old thread. My front R-Tunes are totally wacked though no oil leak but has a lot of noises. Someone pointed to this BC Racing suspension from Taiwan. Since they have a dealer not far from where im at, hope for some feedback from any forumers who has tried them on a R34GTT. If you google it, there is quite a number of forum website that gave some good reviews especially the Subaru's. The are bang for buck suspension setup. http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/ http://www.bcec.com.tw/index.htm
  22. The R34 GTT 2 dr & 4 dr has the same suspension setup. However for the R34GT (Na) they uses a different one probably a R33Gts type for the rear only. The reason is one of our mates has the GT NA and he has to get a different type than the GTT.
  23. That's a very sharp pair of eyes mate. Anyway the GT wing now has changed. will post up the pics soon. Kinda wild compare to the Veilside one.
  24. Im using the EVC5 and the feature that interest me most is the Boost Map Correction. It works really well for part throttle response since my turbo is kinda laggy. After mapping the more boost in the lower rpm / throttle % opening, the car felt more livelier and spooling of the turbo is almost immediate. Hope you find the EBC of you choice..
