  2. Pretty sure its running an HKS 2.8 stroker in an RB26 block
  3. I would really look at going for an HX40 if you want 10s, HX35 could be possible - but probably pushing it. Borg Warner S300SX 83-75 would be another good option if you want truck turbo style...
  4. It should make more than 300hp on 16psi, I can't think of much other than the tuner being a major point to look at for fault if he couldn't suggest any reason for why he couldn't put timing in - unless it was false knock. What fuel are you using?
  5. OLD video: The car is running as close as dammit to the Toyota equivalent to the R34 in terms of spec, except in a way heavier chassis....
  6. And people have gone mid 10s with DOT tyres in full interior "GTS" Skylines running 2.5litre engines and lowly GT3582Rs (under 400wkw). Hell one of my mates did a fair number of 10.6-10.8s runs with a stock bottom end RB25 25T, so one would imagine the same thing on full slicks - stripped out and a 3litre on it would go quicker again. Thats before you get into the fact this car would be making half the power again.....
  7. Curious, how fast do people expect the T04Z GTR to go?
  8. How is spending $150k on any car any different, if the owner is happy with it?
  9. A lot of people stand a fair chance of being made to look silly here Post results please!
  10. Given both cars will be on slicks, I lean towards the R34 running the quicker time if everything is built and executed right.
  11. Oh, now I know what I was talking about. The EVO I was referring to in this post is an EVO 5 running a "2.4litre" stroker and it is basically a torque monster. The one I referred to in my PM in response to you runs a 2litre in an EVO 2 and is obviously not so mental from low revs but still has a well broad power delivery. The 2litre is 18psi by 4500rpm, the 2.4 hasn't been dyno tuned yet but feels like hell has opened up by 4000rpm - they both run BP98.
  12. You guys know the fastest street legal/manual Supras in the world would run with some of the fastest Pro drag GTRs in the world? If the RWD car has good suspension setup, driver, tyres etc then RWD starts becoming a bonus where an AWD car becomes a liability. We aren't talking <400wkw street tyred cars where most of the answers run a lot more true... I just won't bet tbh. The R34 has imho by far more potential, but it will be substantially harder to get to said potential. A T04Z R33 GTR will be a 10s, a GT42R GTt SHOULD be in the single digits if everything is done right.
  13. Hmm I'll have to take pics of the one I have here for comparison when there is more light, tbh I never really thought too much of it but I'll check tomorrow and maybe post them up (if I remember haha)
  14. Andre has just retuned the car with the latest changes for the trip to Oz, apparently found another 115hp Will be really interesting to see how it goes - Place your bets I reckon it'd be pretty sweet to see them crack the 7.50 mark with around 195mph on it. They also put an interesting pic or two up: Source of the madness: HTL Racing - Workshop Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to seeing what this season brings for you
  15. Yeah you can't see what the back pressure is doing by looking at a dyno plot - sometimes it can show up as the power falling over prematurely due to the tuner having to pull timing to avoid detonation before MBT. Funnily enough this dyno plot looks like what you could expect to see in that case, if it weren't for the claim that the early drop off is due to wheelspin. Silly rolling road dynos... Will be interesting to see how it goes on a hub dyno, and how the engine/turbo lasts at that power level if its going to be used on the track at the power level at all? At face value, very nice power level and spool for a convenient and affordable package Didn't Mafia make over 300wkw with a .63a/r GT3076R?
  16. Why bother playing Russian roulette with a cheap knock off turbo when they are barely cheaper than genuine Garrett plain bearing turbos which you KNOW will be fine? It seems like the only options considered are a bling ball bearing Garrett GT-series, or a cheap nasty plain bearing one. There are in betweens people. And really, if you can't afford to spend a little more on just the turbo - then you are heading down a path you can't afford to...
  17. I am fairly sure ages ago I had a S1 and S2 pulled apart side by side (back in my stock turbo days, so this is like 5 years ago and brain fade could be coming into play) and the S2 compressor was as you say, made of different material but was also a little larger... also the composite S2 wheel was a "single blade" style design while the S1 one was twin blade.
  18. Turbine housing is SLIGHTLY larger a/r for the RB25 turbo, runs the exact same wheel. The compressor housing is also slightly larger as said, and from memory is around 66mm exducer vs 60mm for the RB20 turbo. Can't remember the inducer size, but its definitely a couple mm or so larger too. The series 2/Nylon compressor wheels seem to be a bit larger again, from the ones I've looked at
  19. Not sure of the answer there, but changed your question for a bit more accuracy
  20. So you're saying do this regardless of knock or AFRs? And you're saying who shouldn't really be playing with it...?
  21. I would say speak to Dan first. Adrian is going G4, as well as possibly others There could end up being a group buy, so don't go running off without consulting TLR HQ. I am quietly horrified at peoples reliance on S-AFCs, and even more so the whole "Base numbers to work from" concept. If someone made a robotic arm designed to give cut-throat shaves, but having it hard coded to suit the face of the guy who created it - a base to work with as most people have roughly the same looking face... would you use it? Much the same thing, except your engine is the one who gets pwnt.
  22. GotRice? is all about the US imports So you're going to skip the GTSLink idea?
  23. Its been well established that its nothing to do with AFRs - Status posted up what the timing does at the rpm GotRice? had issues, and the S-AFC does not allow adjustments to timing and his AFRs were stable and sensible anyway so getting all bound up on S-AFC settings is creating a red herring.
  24. Very impressive spool for the power it can make, thats awesome - would be interested in knowing the specs of it. I wouldn't put one on an RB25 unless I was aiming for a fair bit less power though, for power to be falling over like that it much be getting quite hot under the collar. Sounds like something which could be an aweful lot of fun on an RB20!
