  1. I never really notice a difference between the two so I choose the cheaper option...

  3. Found some more stuff people have done with a carputer:
  4. I need one of those GTR reservoirs Al as my turbo is rubbing against it. Does it re-use factory PS lines and bolt straight up?
  5. Here's a heap of information including wiring diagrams: HKSKYLINECLUB
  6. opp61 read this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...tml&hl=SMIC Also have a read of the FAQ in the FI section cheers
  7. Hi yes, change to a full dump/front pipe and no the exhaust won't increase turbo lag
  8. Hi, I have the 5" round body but they're both a much better cat than the stock one. The dump and cat are a bottle neck in the stock system and larger ones will provide less resistance to the flow of exhaust gas and will be able to escape more easily after it has done its job of spinning the exhaust compressor wheel in the turbo. I wont go into much more detail since this is the cosmetic section. Do a search in the forced induction section mate cheers
  9. Hi mate, I personally wouldnt fit the intercooler unless you're planning to run higher boost. If you do a search you will see that the stock R33 intercooler is fine up to around 170rwkw. The pause you're describing when you depress the accelerator is turbo lag.... the intercooler will make that pause longer...If you do fit a front mount intercooler you will probably notice a slight increase in turbo lag as the air now has to fill a much larger volume of piping before it reaches the manifold. And NO fitting an intercooler on it's own certainly will not increase your power. They are only there to prevent detonation by cooling large amounts of air which becomes hot after it has been compressed by the turbo. So what can you do before fitting a FMIC? Fit a dump pipe and high flow cat such as the BATMBL ones for sale in the traders section - this will allow the turbo to spool quicker Fit an electronic boost controller such as an A'PEXi AVCR Then consider you're power goals and decide on an appropriate intercooler. Keep in mind that R34 intercoolers have been proven to be efficient for up to 220rwkw and will bolt in the factory location keeping the piping nice and short... excellent mod if you ask me as you're going to have next to no aditional turbo lag compared to the stocker. However If you just want to fit a shiny front mount to show off then disregard all of the above.
  10. This is what I meant (note this is not my photo)
  11. Why not just remove the Oil cooler and replace the barb with a threaded connection the same as the RB30's, fit up a oil cooler adaptor and you're done....
  12. Thought I would add this informative link I found. Also sheds light as to why it is so importand to retain the factory shroud http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/efaninstall.htm
  13. Dont bother with an intercooler until you plan on running more boost... It won't do anything except slightly increase turbo lag. I wouldnt even bother with a pod filter either.
  14. Well done! I have a mate who fitted a touch screen in the factory console (no buttons at all) and controlled it through a laptop in the boot. He fitted the head unit in the glovebox so you could still swap cd's over from inside the car.
  15. The first thing I did was fit an exhaust... Then I lowered it Tinted the Windows Bought wheels Finished rest of exhaust (cat + dump) Then FMIC boost controller + Power FC Brake upgrade Then Engine RB30 convesrsion haha. By the sounds of things you dont want to modify the car for performance since you've already spent money on things like a DVD player and amp. So my suggestion would probably be to start with lowering and wheels... 8.5" front with a +30 offset and 9.5" rear with a +35 offset would be nice and agressive. Anything lower than that would be pretty hard to fit under stock GTST guards...
  16. I ran mine between the turbo outlet and the intercooler and venting straight back into the intake pipe. I'll try to dig up a pic... If you fit it closer to the throttle body you would theoretically have to refill the intercooler and piping with new air on each gearchange / venting of bov...
  17. For the record I didnt create this thread to start a fight as has been suggested by a few so far I saw it on another forum and after 6 pages or so not even a hint of a problem Link for Reference Anywho carry on...
  18. Well I thought this would be pretty appropriate for this section I really just dont like blingy skylines... I bought mine to drive not look at (though I have to admit ive added a few mild aesthetic modifications)
  19. Nah I dont think to blingy either, its not like they're those dolce's or Gestalts or any of that other bullsh1t American style
  20. They're different the N1 gears (bottom pump) have a wave design:
  21. I doubt everyone is going to agree but I was under the impression Autronic was the next best option...

    Americana

Wtf sure you dont mean fairings?
  23. Heres a photo of the W427 I took yesterday at the motorshow: And just for the record, there's only 200 being produced so I doubt the people buying these are going to consider fuel economy when they put their hand up to buy one

    Tiny Turbos?

True, not only Nissan switch to IHI, alot of the Japanese aftermarket tuner's choose them... Garrett are probably able to supply them to Nissan alot more competitively than other makers. I personally would love to see the RX6B used alot more. Power Enterprise have a nice kit using it now..
