  1. you'll find that if you ever need to replace brake light globes, to work properly you need to replace ALL with exactly the same brand otherwise you'll get slight voltage difference between the new and old globes, gives you the problem you have. if not, maybe the lenses in the tail lights are dirty. or possibly one tail light is newer than the other and faded less.
  2. prefer a broken one or a working one will also do... and cheap. will pay for postage im sure it wont be to much of a hassle to post it considering theyre so small located in Tassie. thanks in advance Paul.
  3. auto and fwd? hmm u13 bluebird 1/2 cut?? is it a 4wd box or 2wd? i might know someone interested actually. what kms, what cond is the turbo?
  4. for r31/r32/a31/z31 rb20 boxes, RP71C is the model and next to that is either #1 or #2 which denote either single or double syncros, generally double syncros are only in the turbo variants... the ribs on the gearbox casings I have found don't always match if its a turbo or not as I've pulled a few ribbed boxes from N/A vl commodores and they look identical to an import turbo box, but they arent the same. easiest give away with your car quikblade, would be to check the box cross member, pretty sure an a31 manual cross member will bolt straight up to the body of and a31 auto cefiro, if its got a modified crossmember then its likely its a 25 box cos they're longer (just) than the 20 box!

  6. engine should be fine at around 7psi, anything more you would need to lower compression ratio otherwise you could do serious damage over time. the ECU should also be fine at this boost level, the fuel map is fairly linear with respect to air intake, and the R33 ecu isn't too bad unlike earlier ecu's. worst comes to worst, i think you'll find the 25det ecu will plug straight in anyhow, same plug, same pinouts, most of the sensors are the same although I'd say the AFM probably differs so you'll prob need to change that too if swapping ECUs. fuel, cant see a problem there with the stock injetors, if you put in the 25det ones justin you may need the 25det fuel reg as the base pressure on a non turbo *may* be lower as you'll find most turbo cars run higher pressure.
  7. if its definitely oil then your turbo is fecked mate... i'd suggest it'd be a combination of moisture in the exhaust and fuel, and it looks black due to the carbon build up through the exhaust system.
  8. Any help appreciated, theres not a lot around down here in Tassie. Cheers Paul.
  9. Need the front pair of stock standard seat belts for my R32 sedan... I can only assume that coupe ones would be the same also? I need them complete, good nick and working order. Pics are more than welcome if you can help me out. Will pay freight to Tassie. PM me, send me a SMS or ring would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cheers Paul 0428310449
  10. imported my R32 myself, with the help of Geoff at PM also... was a straight forward enough process. would definitely do it again! cost me about $700 to get it up to ADR requirements, plus rego. my other cars been lucky enough to find here relatively cheap.
  11. The Huon Highway isn't a bad stretch of road when it's not soaking wet... Hey mate I have a R32 sedan also, its a GTS-4 tho so will handle quite a bit different to yours. Would be nice to compare them. -Paul
  12. I haven't had too much trouble with PULP on any of my cars, but just recently installed a Mines ECU in the HR31 and it runs extremely shit on PULP. Runs heaps better with octane booster. Can't wait for better fuel myself....
  13. I've done this ever since I've had my license. Always had an auto car to run about in (I have a manual as well of course!) so I just like to do something with my left foot more than anything. Takes a little bit of getting used to at first tho!
  14. most defintely a GT.... same goes for any Skyline for that matter
  15. My R32 luckily came with some very recent Addzest 6x4 speakers in the front doors... Quite happy with that because it's one less thing I have to bother doing. But regarding aftermarket 6x4 speakers, I've seem a couple of brands in the states with them, but nothing here. Ebay had some VERY NASTY looking ones so I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Best bet is to do what was mentioned above and make your own 6" speaker mounts.
  16. There's an R31 tassie club with quite a few members... We go on regular cruises and possibly organising a dyno day pretty soon.
  17. I've seen a DOHC nissan V8 in a Datsun 910 so no doubt one will fit in an R31...
  18. I purchased my R32 GTS-4 from the Yahoo auctions with assistance of Prestige Motorsports. The only problem I found was the lack of info prior to the auction, whereas the other auctions seem to more detailed and you tend to have a better idea what you are buying (less chance of importing a piece of shit). I was thorougly happy with my purchase, and when I finally got it, there were heaps more goodies than I was aware of. Just be careful and find out as much info as you can before you bid/buy a yahoo auctions vehicle.
  19. I have an easier option, just aroldite a piece of glass over the top of the existing glass If/when you can be bothered to do it properly this is a good tute however
  20. dry solder joint i am assuming...
  21. good question... i sort of stumbled across them over the years, and me being one of those impulse buyers i couldn't pass up a good offer I have plans for them just don't know what yet...
  22. Ah yeah forgot about the SA R31's. I believe they came with both the RB30E and RB20E versions. This may indicate IRS was available on the JDM sedans then...
  23. I have a Passage 85 build date but complied as an 86 model. It's the first series and has HICAS 4WS. I believe HICAS was an option with IRS models, but not available on live axle rear ends. I was wondering if IRS was available in the sedan, i'm not sure but someone here may know...
  24. Are R32 GTS-4 brakes the same/similar to GTS-t or GTR? They look damn big on mine (it also has ABS if that helps) and stop well, I haven't seen any to compare to so not sure what they are...
  25. Parked next to the ceffy in Glenorchy yesterday. Damn woman driver doesnt give a crap about her car... she backed out of her park spot like a bull in a china shop just missing a car behind her, all with 1 hand on the wheel the other on a cigarette.
