  2. i took my GTR and GTS to tilbrooks RECENTLY, and have only good things to say. Before i bought my GTR Mark showed me over one of the cars there in DETAIL showing me what to look for, and was extremely helpful. Depending on the job mark does work on the cars, he made some custom bits for me and di some fitting. From apprentice mechanic right up to mark ive only had good service. They are pretty busy hence not always making deadlines, but what counts is that the job is done properly more so than on time. The first thing that hit me is how passionate mark is about the cars (esp GTR's i think) and certainly knows them inside and out, no question about that. Oh and in regards to tuning, the last i heard you can choose either martin or tim.
  3. I had to change mine a few years ago. Back then I bought them from either Jaycar or Dick Smiths. They are called 'grain of wheat bulbs'. Silly name, but thats what they're called. Cost me a few dollars each.
  4. Item: NISMO 2-way 4.3:1 ratio R200 complete diff centre and housing plus R33 rear cap (can be swapped for 32, s13 etc) Location: Adelaide Item Condition: Excellent Reason for Selling: 4.3:1 ratio is awesome on the street, but its just a bit too short for mallala with my current rev limit. Price and Payment Conditions: $950 Extra Info: cheap acceleration gain over stock 4.1:1 diff, hard to find NISMO and 4.3:1 ratio. If drift interests you, this is the perfect diff. Contact Details: via PM pics to follow shortly.
  5. def post pics! the engine conversion will be awesom. No need for rb25 or 30, compare the power of the rb20 to the stock 2.8 and you'll see the rb will be great. the ol pagoda roof 280 6cyl makes ~170hp compared to the ~215hp RB20det (not to mention easy mods from exhaust etc). The merc weighs not much more than a 32 skyline also. not sure about the hot house green tho! get the engine in it and running before you go painting it green!
  6. id agree with mafia, how can you expect a jap tuned car to run nicely on 98? even with the octane booster your prob only pushing 100+/- 1 or 2.. as we would get an ecu tuned for our top pump fuel which is 98, the ex owner prob got the ecu tuned for the their best available pump fuel as above.
  7. i got 3rwkw increase on back to back dyno runs just by changing to the splitfire coils, which im not claiming is reason to go out and buy em! my std ones were getting temperamental. Plug gap had to remain at 0.7mm otherwise id get missfires at 1.2bar.
  8. would be great if you could post some pics up, save you time instead of individually emailing everyone that asks.
  9. Car Make and Model: R33 GTSt Circuit Name: Mallala Lap time: 1m25s Modifications Engine: stock rb25det Power: ran @14psi (unknown exact rwkw), but makes 265rwkw @16.5psi Suspension: bilstein sports plus kings 1inch lowered Tyres: RE55s Brakes: Stock setup using 4000rotors front and EBC greens. Body weight: stock Was first time on a track and only ran 2 short sessions so pretty pleased with the time Washing off some speed before throwing her hard into turn one (had the most fun throwing into this corner a bit overspeed then trying to catch the tail before hooking round the hairpin )
  10. is there a little black box on the firewall side of the coil pack cover? if so its a series 1, if not its a 2.
  11. This diff is the biz. if you ever enjoy hangin it out a little, you need it!
  12. my personal opinion only, better off going a 2nd hand HKS2510-2530 plus computer etc. Of course its all $ and depends on what power your want/what you want to use the car for.
  13. i dont mean mean screwed for speeding. Seeing as the point of this thread is impounding, isnt it obvious i meant they could have taken my car on the basis of street racing? Doing 75 in a 60 is not basis for impounding.
  14. yeah its getting shocking. the other night i was admittedly speeding (about 75 in a 60), casually cruising past traffic (unaware of the cop car hiding a few cars back), i was in a sedan not my r33. I change lanes to cruise past a 33 who was doing the speed limit, and as i get next to him he dumps it and takes off, at which point the flashing lights go on and we both get pulled over, the cop comes up and tells me that ive been caught street racing and that they can take my car. Absolutley shocked i explained the situation, and anyone whos been in that situation will understand its next to impossible to remain completely calm and collected when your being falsely accused and risk losing your car! anyway we were both let off with warnings, and the police were very reasonable and fair from then on. But as mentioned, all it takes is one copper with a bad attitude and you can be completely screwed even if innocent.
  15. so the buddys/track look is more popular so far which is good to know.. On the GTSt's 19s are too big for decent handling IMO. apart from adding to the unsprung weight, the rolling diameter is significantly taller than the stock 16's, for which the suspension geometry was designed to work with! not trying to start a suspension thread tho
  16. sorry i wouldnt know, never boosted mine past 17.5psi so far!
  17. With all the recent hype of massive chromies and dumped suspension, im just curious to know what look is favoured at the moment. We have my previous Bling setup of 19s and uncomfortably low suspension (as in signature pic), and my current very drivable setup of 17's and sensible suspension. Which gets the vote!?
  18. that would be easy if i hadnt spent so much on my car! selling to buy one with abs is not an option!
  19. with 18inch wheel you are going to have an overall bigger diameter than the stock 16incher. The tyres you choose can be close, but generally still larger rolling diameter. My 19's had superlow profile rubber on them and they were still way larger than the stock 16inch rolling diameter!
  20. 3037ProS is an external gate only isnt it?
  21. gtst25, one thing i didnt get in my kit, either that or its not meant to be included, was a gasket of any kind for the exhaust turbine housing/dump pipe flange? there is a groove in the exhaust housing so we made up some copper wire to fit exactly as pictured... it probably doesnt need anything, but i didnt want to have to pull it off again incase there was a leak.
  22. mine is on the car now, so cant shine lights down holes or anything, but heres the 2835 next to the 2530.
