  1. Kel if you really look like your avatar, i wouldn't be surprised if you caused all 4 accidents and the guys just took the blame cause they're suckers for a pretty face!!
  2. doh, thanks man. I'm not much worried about the expense, more about finding one at a wreckers. I"ve emailed a couple of the jap wreckers and am just waiting for a reply at the mo so we'll see. Don't think its worth getting a pod filter engineered till i put the rest of my stuff in the car, so i was gonna do it all together. Cheers man
  3. shit i thought he was talking about upgrade plans not what to service his car with!! hahahahah Sorry dude, my bad. I was pretty tired when i read this. :whip:
  4. shit man thats unlucky. Sorry to hear. I've been in a few with other people driving (but they were at fault....AND TWO OUT OF THREE WERE WOMEN!!!!!!!) Hahhahaha didn't even think about that. Luckily they were all fairly minor (just because of luck mind you). I do understand that you can be the best driver in the world and still put your life in the hand of other dickheads on the road, but i thought it was a bit of rough luck to have been driving for 4 years (shes 21 so i'm assuming) and have had 4 accidents.
  5. yeah i was a bit shocked by that, not sure if its legal to get me when i'm parked!! I don't normally drive into the city of a fri or sat night so i've never actually seen them before. Normally i just use train so i can drink, i was pis*ed off cause i only decided to drive at the last minute!!! Think i'll be sticking with that idea from now on, i don't go in there to cruise or anything. Anywho, i didn't get done too majorly, fingers crossed that my vl airbox will fit so i can drive it until i can buy an r33 one.
  6. whats been done to it so far?? I'm not much of an expert, but usually exhaust/dump pipe first, boost controller of some sort, fmic then....maybe pfc or something?? Not sure. Write up whats been done and how much you wanna spend. Also use the search function. Probably a million other threads like this. Have fun...the waiting game sux bad ey
  7. man i'm not liking this. Wheres the sexist sentiment thats SUPPOSED to exist in our society. Bloody female drivers, too busy putting on makeup to concentrate!! (not serious by the way....much) kel if you're 21 and have been in four accidents already, i reckon you must be doing something wrong. I'm 23 and haven't been in any (you pulling out in front of people too close or something???) go the chauvinist male!!!
  8. i know this is probably rediculous but i got defected for HKS pod the other night and i have 4 days to get it sorted. I have my VL commodore in the shed with its motor in pieces. Just wondering if theres any slight chance in hell that i could fit that airbox somehow onto the rb25det in the r33?? Highly doubting it but thought it might be an easy way out/
  9. cheers mate, don't worry about it. i'll just grab one from wreckers. Thanks though
  10. have u sold the airbox? Need stock one as my hks pod got defected last night. Will u post to syd cod at my expense? Also do u have a pic of it?? can u email it to [email protected] cheers
  11. don't suppose you have standard airbox for sale
  12. HAHAHAHAHAHAH omg you don't stop. Thankyou. Please do not waste anymore, as it in turn wastes mine.
  13. LOL. who quotes themselves in replies ahahahahah. Couldn't be bothered arguing with you nxtime, if you read the initial post it said nothing about being hard done by by the cops. This post was just to find out who else got done and what they got done for (cause i saw a lot of heavily modified vehicles being dragged in). Please don't go off on your own tangents to give you an excuse to be beligerant. My point was that i think it was a bit of a joke seeing this many police dedicated to pulling in cruising cars, when theres so many other probs around. I understand them busting the street racers etc, but i don't see how this will help that at all. How much street racing takes place in the city dude?? PLease read my initial post again, i know it was early morning when u read it the first time Anyway i digress, Even my rims are stock. You guys are lucky, but the one at the docks was the larger of the 2 operations. Thats where they dragged me. Sounds like i was the only unlucky one around here though. p.s i think most p platers in skylines (and most modified cars) are lunatics and like to see the police crack down on them if they do stupid things.
  14. they will have a dB meter which will measure how loud it is
  15. let me guess. U r about 60 nxtime. The fact is i couldn't have got anymore, its not like they let me get away with anything. I keep my car relatively stock so i don't get hassles, all the mods it has i bought it with from a dealer (pod and exhaust). I wasn't doing anything crazy, i was in the city for a farewell party for a friend, i was the only one in the car. Also i'm 24 so not exactly a young hoon, and i was parked when they told me to follow them for a "roadworthy inspection" so it wasn't cause i was doing anything wrong. Re: the licence problem, i already said i had checked with the rta and they had given me misleading information. So if you wanna spit out some more ignorant misinformed information then please think twice and keep it to yourself. Not all P platers are evil. siksII - there were a few different lots of em. I saw 2 different setups at the rocks, 1 of em was on george st about 10 cops or so aouside the orient hotel, another (the one that got me) was further around in the backstreets (can't remember st name soz) and had about 20 or so cops (including the ones driving around bringing people in). Don't get me wrong i can understand having defect stations set up, but having that many police taken away from patrols just to check cars seems rediculous.
  16. Man i just came back from the city where i've been defected in my almost stock skyline. I couldn't believe the amount of cops that were all through the city JUST to defect imports (although they did get a few commos!!!). Got me for my pod and a busted high beam (luckily the 3inch exhaust was quiet enough for em). :kick: Also got me for driving a manual on a vic auto p plate licence (although i was informed by the RTA when i moved back to syd that the green p rules applied to me which would mean i'm allowed to drive manual!! I've had ps for 2.5 years now!!!!) Anyway i noticed a lot of cars got done and a fwe other lines. Just wondering how many copped it worse than me. Hoping someone will make me feel better, as they told me i'm not allowed to drive my car till i get my licence thing sorted out. I can't believe they would waste that many resources just to defect these cars, no wonder crimes up to shit in syd.
  17. you're lucky. I got defected tonight in sydney (about 30 friggin cops setting up defect stations all through inner syd). I own fairly stock skyline, hks pod, strut and kakimoto exhaust about only mods. They got me on pod filter & a busted high beam (which must have happened in the last 2 days as i checked it on wed!!!!) sigh. I was nice too but they were a bunch of knobs!! ps i'm aussie too!!!!
  18. Normally if you blow the head you'll notice oily sludge in the water, or in the oil. Hopefully this ain't the case (although in my vl's case it did happen, but only because it was blocked with the crap and so water wasn't flowing properly through the head, overheated it). Check under the oil cap after the cars been running a while and see if theres sludge under it. If so your heads stuffed. I'm no mechanic but i ran the vl with a cracked head for about 12 months and the only times it overheated was when i let it drink too much of the water and the waterlevel dropped to low. Normally you would've noticed something before this time though.,
  19. my clutch is in the midst of dying at the moment, and also my gearbox is rough as. I know this is probably a stupid question but this is my first manual car. I'm wanting to change the gearbox oil with redline shockproof stuff but don't wanna do it if when the clutch and flywheel get changed (probably in a month or 2) they change the gearbox oil anyway as that would be a waste of 130bux. Also i've got a bit of "dragging" on the clutch. Sometimes during gear shifts it seems like i've not got the clutch in and it crutches like a mofo. I've heard this can be caused by a dodgy master cylinder. If so how much is this likely to cost to replace?? Any help with this would be much appreciated (gotta get this shit sorted before installing the avcr and intercooler i have laying around) Cheers peoples
  20. george st is sh*t. Go to the rocks or darling harbour. Much nicer area
  21. Radiator could be blocked and full of rust and crap. Had the same thing happen to my vl, water then boils up from radiator into reservoir. Didn't u notice it overheating or anything though?? Keep an eye on it, could wreck your engine/crack the head. Take it to a radiator place and get them to flush and clean. If its really bad they might need to pull out the radiator and push metal rods through it to clean out sludge. Might be something else possibly but sounds very similar to the problem i had.
  22. I got a quote from sattrak, 2k for install incl first year tracking, then $365 a year for tracking after that. Thats if you want it monitored, if you just want it to alert your mobile then there are only sms costs
  23. i've heard its best to get your car tuned on the petty u usually run on, shit petrol might mean they have to tune it more conservatively to stop pinging etc. I'm not sure exactly how much of a diff figures wise though.
  24. yeah mine does same, i figured it was a jammed vent so i haven't bothered having it looked at. It only does it on startup and occassionally when ac on so it doesn't annoy me too much, if it starts smoking up or doing it too often i'll have it lkooked at.
  25. might need safc 2 or so i reckon, or you'll be running rich i think
