Scott, it was pretty easy to route the piping back to the original pipes. You've just gotta be careful with your measuring. For the 180deg bend I bought a donut and then cut it in half. This way you get the tightest bend. I had to angle it downwards so it would fit behind the cooler, and in front of the radiator. It also has to go slightly below that fan on front of the radiator. I'm not sure what effect the 180deg bend has, but it doesn't seem to be any laggier than stock so I assume it hasn't had any negative effects My cooler is exactly the same as yours, just not branded a Hybrid. Same dimensions etc also. The bits I bought were : 1 x 2.5" donut 2 x 90deg 2.5" mandrel bends 2 x 3" ---> 2.5" pipe reducer 2m of 2.5" piping yeah I mounted mine to the bar above the cooler ... not sure if it's strong enough but the piping holds it, and the whole things as tight as a nun's snatch but i'm also get some brackets welded to the underside soon to give it some extra strength. Hope that helps some

This is for anyone who has an R32 and is thinking of paying someone to fit their cooler. After getting quotes of around $650 to fit my intercooler, I decided that the money was better spent on beer, so my brother and I went to work fitting the thing It was actually surprisingly easy, and let me be the first to admit that my mechanical skills aren't that flash. I pulled the front bar off, removed all the stock cooler components including supports, pipes etc but left the pipes that are in the engine bay. I then had to cut a few parts of the metal supports to fit the cooler and piping in, but nothing major. Luckily for me, it appears that my car probably had a front mount in Japan so the big hole in the support bar at the front had already been done. I then drilled 2 holes in the support bar and bolted the cooler to that. The piping then went out of the cooler on the drivers side and back underneath, running along the length of the front of the car to meet up with the stock piping. It took about a day in total but now my car feels HEAPS better!! I'm going to put it on the dyno and get the timing and boost set properly and then take it to the drags Anyway I thought I'd write this in case other people were going to be lazy and get someone to fit their cooler for them! Don't be lazy fit it yourself it's not that hard!! Instead of paying $650 it cost me about $180 for all the parts. You've also gotta have a few brews to hand when undertaking such an operation :alcoholic oh here's a pic of how we did it

Pity it doesn't work above 60kph instead of the advertised 80 Numberplate Bracket

GTS4 clutch: organic or brass?
JH32 replied to JH32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I'm not too sure if it's a brass centre or not. A mate has one in his car and I don't think his is on/off, so perhaps it's not a brass centre  I don't know much about clutches -
In about two weeks I'm going to be getting a new clutch. For more or less the same price I can get either: 1) a 9 puck organic clutch (i think? perhaps ceramic?? i dont know) 2) a 5 puck brass button clutch Which would be the better buy? As in which will last longer, grip better etc etc. Also if I do a big launch in the grippier of the two clutches, how would the gearbox hold out? Cheers

Clutch pedal bracket (again)
JH32 replied to JH32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
OK this time I got the thing welded up big time got it reinforced with some more metal so hopefully it should hold up! -
Well after snapping it once, and getting it welded up ... it's snapped again. I know of 1 other person this has happened to ... anyone else had this problem? Did you replace it or weld it? Cheers.

FS: Limited Edition Twin Turbo Soarer
JH32 replied to JH32's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
haha cheers anyway mate -
My girlfriend is selling her car.... It's a rare Limited Edition Twin Turbo Soarer :Pimp:, in dark green. It has all the luxury options such as electric everthing (seats, mirrors, windows, sunroof etc). Also has the woodgrain dash and door trims, rear wiper, cruise control, and also the better digital dash with fuel computer. It has the light grey velour interior which looks immaculate. Also has factory bodykit with rear spoiler, and optioned front lip extension. The car has been lowered, and rides on the standard 16" wheels with brand new 225 rubber all round. It's done 75,000kms and is hardly ever driven. It has rego till October. Also has remote central locking with immobiliser and alarm. She's asking $15,850, which in my opinion is great value for money considering its excellent condition and the luxury of these cars! If interested call 0401 331 585 Car is in Perth. For pics of it, go to THIS LINK and click on the thumbnails to make them bigger

Also if you buy a car in Japan now, and the Government decides to change the ruling from 15 years to 20 years, then ... your farked. I've spoken to a few import people now and they all say that this is more than likely going to happen at some point.

Can you order a fan belt from Nissan or is there any other one that you can use? Also, is it hard to do? I looked in there and it's on mighty tight so I'm not sure how easy it's going to be to do this
-
Cheers guys for the help I might end up having to take it to somewhere to get done as I don't really have the time to do it myself, but I think i definitely should get it looked at.
-
They do look cool Cheers heaps Al for organising those.

I just fitted a one piece dump and front pipe to my car, tho I couldn't do one of the bolts up tight enough. So I have all bolts except one done up tight. I'm not sure if there's a leak, but if there is will it affect performance? Someone told me it won't, as it's after the turbo, but is this true?
-
ummmm yeh so ... where are they?
-
dude I'm sure with a set of height adjustable coil overs you could get your car somewhere near that level of lowness I've got a mate with a 32 and with his adjustables his rims sit inside his arches.Maybe not that much but they do. Apparently you can modify something on the coilovers to make them go lower too. I'm no expert, in fact I don't really know much at all about coilovers, but I'd say that's the only way to go. Hope that's something useful for you.
