  1. They're just bushes that stiffen up your suspension .... prevent axle tramp etc You don't necessarily need wider tyres ... look at rev210 ... 13.4-ish on 205/65 tyres
  2. I reckon a FMIC will help you. When I put mine on my car I remember feeling a huge difference, especially in the midrange. Also I agree with chops ... the VX should have been quicker with exhaust and ls1 edit. Diff gears depends what he's got ... 3.9:1 might not help him so much over the quarter, but good for initial accel.
  3. My engine is now running only on 4 cylinders, after replacing the head gasket. It seems as though cylinders 1 and 2 don't want to fire. I've pulled the coils off and they're sparking, so I thought perhaps the plugs. I swapped plugs 1 and 6 and still the same problem, so it's not the plugs and not the coils. Which leaves injectors?? What could suddenly be wrong with those? I had to remove the fuel rail obviously when I replaced the head gasket, but I'm sure everything has gone back in as it came out  Please help I'm stuck!!

    Lost...

The thing about IT is that it used to be a booming industry ... I hear the jobs are starting to dry up a bit now. My next door neighbour finished his Computer Science degree a year ago and has only just got a job last month. What sort of qualifications do you have? As that will affect what you can do.
  5. I agree with gen180 and Paul .. there are a few members here who are active participants in the club but don't own Skylines, but I also agree with Steve in that it should be a Jap car club if we're going to accept other types of cars. I mean after all it is Skylines Australia, and we're already pushing the boundaries that the name implies. If someone wants to join who owns another type of car, well there are plenty of clubs out there for that sort of thing.
  6. But I'll donate some money too How does one do that?
  7. That looks crap!
  8. I'll pay a membership fee too. I'm all for clubs having paying members.
  9. Cheers guys for the replies Ken the revs dont rise and fall ... its just sounds very .... WRX like. But the car doesn't seem to move around like if a spark plug wasn't working
  10. Ok I've loosened off the cam belt and then retightened the tensioner, and the whirring noise has gone away Cheers for that! Now to the other problem which I feel is quite alarming. It still sounds like it's "missing", even when I rev it, the engine sounds like its only running on 5 cylinders even though I'm sure all 6 are firing. The alarming part is that after I turned the car off and removed the radiator cap, the coolant spurted out. Isnt that the sign of a blown head gasket? :D
  11. How do you know if the belt is a tooth out?
  12. After blowing a head gasket, we've replaced everything and put it all back together. Started the car up ... it runs ok but its a bit lumpy and there's no white smoke anymore! woohoO! Could the lumpy idle be contributed to not having set the crank angle sensor position correctly? ie. the timing is out? Also there's a whirring noise coming from the cambelt ... does that mean it's too tight? Cheers!
  13. Well done Obsydian for the conversion! My brother was at Speedworks when they started it up and he said it was absolutely awesome! Can't wait to see it in real life for myself! Hopefully it won't be at the lights!!
  14. Found one now
  15. If anyone has one, please PM me Also if it has an adapter for an R32 Skyline that would be even better! Cheers
  16. Gav I don't know if you'll get the ford ones on there because I tried to put them on mine (I have GTR offset too). The rears would go on but there was no chance in hell I was gonna get the front ones on ... wouldnt clear the brakes.

What is this car? Obviously R32 GTR but what's done to it?
  19. Yeah I know that's what I thought! I thought if I gave it to them with the cams in, then I would expect to get it back with the cams in! And cleaned and tested and all the other stuff they said they would do. Ahh well this mate of mine knows his stuff, and his mates have some pretty hi-po cars here in Perth so they're going to help me tonight Cheers for your help tho fellas
  20. hahahah mate I'm not even a fitter .. I work in finance not in mechanics ahh well guess I'll take it to a mate tonight who does that sort of stuff. I just wanted to see if it was possible for me to do it myself instead of having to cart all the gear over to his house. Cheers for the help though!
  21. Why? Is it that hard?
  22. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to replace the cams etc back into the head of my RB20DET? I sent it away to get planed/crack tested and cleaned, and when I got it back they'd taken the cams and all the associated parts/bolts/clamps etc out and put them in boxes. How do I replace it all? Is there a guide somewhere or a pic I can look at? In the box there are little arch shaped things, lots of bolts/screws, round cylinder shaped things and some cam covers. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can't put the head back on the block until I have done this Cheers :headspin:
  23. how much are they to post a pic u have to click on reply then at the bottom there's a browse button click on that to attach the pic then submit pic cant be too big though or it won't let u submit it

  25. Cheers guys for the help I just got another stock Nissan head gasket Was gonna put it all back together on Saturday after draining the sump and coolant, cleaning the block to a mirror finish But then found that there were two studs that had snapped off in head for the exhaust manifold. so i've gotta get them removed. Also the place that tested and cleaned my head pulled the cams etc out so I have no idea how to replace them! A mate said he'd do that tomorrow for me Hopefully get the car running again soon!
