Is the S6000 5litres? If so I'll take two...

Clearly your car feels the need for speed and is going into race mode. That would get annoying after a while, maybe an alarm feature? Any recent changes to the car ?
-
More speed signs != more speed limits The government did make a promise to ensure all GPS'es have accurate speed info by a certain year (2012?)....although obviously that doesn't help when your not using one

Markos/PTC are old-school in there training methods, I agree with most of his views. In fact I've been training there for about a year and have got stronger/leaner than I have ever been. And obviously he has a strong opinion on these subjects. But if you do have a good consistent source of information post it up. I enjoy reading and am happy to read alternative information.
-
That is a low blow, PTC are biased towards weight loss. Which is what *most* people aim for. The rest of the PTC newsletters target weight gain and strength gain. Again very common. In fact PTC can tailor things to your goals, that's what strength & conditioning coaches do. Of course there is more than one way to your goal, a better question is what is the most efficient way to achieve your goal. I understand that many people do not like the way PTC newsletters are written which is fine, its just a source of information, you don't have to read it. I welcome people to post other article, although there is a lot of misinformation in the industry, which is why I think PTC is a useful source of information. There is a saying that the best program done 70%, won't be as effective as an average program done 100% I completely agree with you, although I think motivation (or discipline depending which way you look at it) is the highest priority, without that there is no diet or training.

Neither car I. We can probably agree that some exercise is better than no exercise Anyway, anyone on here can do there own research and draw there own conclusions. If it works for you then great

Interesting... Steady state definitely has a purpose, but as JKR-32 mixing it up is important. In the past I did just steady state cardio and didn't get far in terms of any measurable improvement...but that's just me
-
My point was only that steady state cardio does tend to reduce muscle, which reduces the BMR. Lower BMR makes it harder to lose weight, which is why most people do steady state cardio. Its not "very" effective as you put it. Although its still debated, I've read / watched articles / documentaries that advise that HIIT over a 24hour period is superior for fat loss. That said I'm confident you or I could keep finding counter studies. In fact we could sit here all day doing that I assume we're going to start heartrate next / cardio vs weights next ? Tabata is a great form of cardio. Kettlebells used correctly is going to burn a lot more than steady state cardio. Hopefully we'd both agree that diet is much more important for fat loss than any kind of exercise.

Oil Analysis Victoria - What Are Your Experiences?
some_cs_student replied to Sarumatix's topic in Victoria
Duncan used that one I think. There was a very recent post, in the last week or two on it and what he got back. I've put an order into: http://www.e-monitor.com.au/ But no response yet, I also need to buy some more oil...anyone else want oil from performancelub in the South East? -
On a previous post, cereal is ok. But oatmeal is so much better for you Cardio, if your referring to steady state cardio like riding/jogging then that will remove muscle. Have you look at pictures of a marathon runner? However, if you do tabata or sprinting that will not effect your strength, and its great for you. In fact, HIIT in general is great EDIT: Split Routines: Are They the Death of Productive Training? not a quick read but very good for anyone still doing split routines. In regard to mass gainer, that's just protein with carbs mixed in. You could just use protein shake + eat some carbs, or just eat protein + carbs. Whatever works for you....

some_cs_student replied to some_cs_student's topic in Victoria
Should have quoted him I read the post where he said "metallurgist?" and couldn't work out how you interpreted that to relate to police I see his earlier post now... -
Yes. But it can be had at other times, I have one first thing in the morning before breakfast. Either way food is better in most situations +1

Fire Extinguisher For Track Days - R33 - 2 Bolts Or 1?
some_cs_student replied to some_cs_student's topic in Victoria
I was referring to scrutineers The extinguisher is hidden under my front seat because I'm short, its only just visible... -
Interesting, I'll address a few questions in this post with my opinion. You don't have to time protein shakes to before/after workouts, I take one in the morning with the oatmeal, as the body is starved overnight. The more you can use natural food to get protein the better. Protein shakes after workout are very important for building muscle, followed by a carbohydrate rich meal within 1hour of training. I did read some research that you should avoid eating for 1-2hours if your just trying to lose weight but never validated that research. Here's some of my interesting articles I've read regarding nutrition, before nissansilvia fell apart in regard to this info: Foods that make you look good Nekid Suggested reading for everyone. Protein Prejudice The Truth About Bulking Diet Advice These are mainly for weight loss but still interesting: 5 Reasons for Failed Body Transformations Weightloss for Dumbies Dieting disasters The general comment I've heard about supplements, was that if it worked it would be banned in powerlifting / general sport. Caffeine works for increasing your metabolism, which is why many of those expensive supplements are caffeine mixed in with a few other things. The serious guys I've met don't touch that, they eat well and train hard. Someone asked about supplements, there a discussion on NS for this: Supplements - an explination (sic) What each one is for, when to use and what they do for the body. To simplify all the above, all you need to do is eat the correct level of protein , fats and carbs. For an ectomorph that's going to be a lot of food, and I wouldn't bother counting calories. Just eat, and if you get no results eat more And then train hard with compound exercises 3 times a week. I've posted the above links so you can do your own analysis and make some decisions, but here's a training newsletter . And finally MAXIMISING MINIMALISM I'm not going to bother commenting on your training routine, except to say its highly inefficient for building muscle. And I think my billion links I've posted is enough reading material for the next week or two, if you read most of them you might have very few questions left. lol

Personally I'd drop the isolation, I've seen so many people do much better without it, myself included Have a read of SPECIALIZE OR GENERALIZE?and A better you Your diet is pretty bad, there is very small amounts of protein in there, and its missing milk You didn't mention the weights on any of those lifts....in fact I'd drop most of those exercises and do squat, deadlift, bench, military press, power clean, et cetera. Have a read of the Markos beginners program. Also you will get a lot more help on AusBB than SAU. No offense to the SAU guys. I'd recommend posting in the strength section on AusBB. EDIT read as many newsletters as you can. If your in Melbourne then PTC frankston is $20 a session at the Frankston Football grounds , it could be worth it for a few sessions to learn good technique...

So your either very sick, like glandular fever, or your doing it wrong I'm guessing the latter, are you naturally skinny? What do you eat? What's your lifting program?

Fire Extinguisher For Track Days - R33 - 2 Bolts Or 1?
some_cs_student replied to some_cs_student's topic in Victoria
Oh ok so you drilled a couple of holes in there and bolted it in...pics would be great -
Hi, At my last track day, which was a while ago , the scrutineer nearly did not pass me because I did not have bolts holding my fire extinguisher. At this stage I've re-used the rear seat mount, and the fire extinguisher has a single bolt through it. Although they said something about having a bolt & nut...(I have a bolt with an allen key head, I cannot recall its name). Anyway, do I need 2 bolts? And where do other people mount there fire extinguishers? If I did drill a hole for the other bolt I'm not sure how I would get a nut on the other end of it. Or if there's a way to make the thread that the bolt can go into. Thanks, Gareth

Your a sports car enthusiast and your painting all truck drivers with the same brush? What is wrong with you? That's the same as saying you've seen some skylines drive dangerously, therefore no skyline driver should comment on other drivers.
